What's the work[]
The Rebirth of Mothra trilogy is a spin-off of the Godzilla franchise, following the benevolent giant moth kaiju, Mothra and, more specifically, her son, Mothra Leo. Rebirth of Mothra III is the third and final instalment in the trilogy,
Who is he?[]
Grand King Ghidorah is an incarnation of Ghidorah, who is no stranger to being Pure Evil. Like many incarnations, he is an evil extraterrestrial alien kaiju who invaded Earth millions of years ago in the Cretaceous period with the intent of but was seemingly defeated by Mothra Leo. However, he survived and would return to Earth in the present day, planning to leave the planet a lifeless husk, starting with the children.
What has he done[]
Like the Showa version of the monster, King Ghidorah is a malevolent monster that kills all life he encounters.
When he arrived on the planet in the Cretaceous period, he exterminated all the dinosaurs to extinction and attempted to decimate all life on the planet. He wiped out most of the life on earth and fed off their life force. This shows the massive scope of the evil actions he has committed and the very high kill count he has.
In real life, after bringing destruction to many major populated areas (again, showing how murderous he is), Ghidorah commits his most uniquely evil action by kidnapping every child on Japan and imprisoning them in a dome, planning on draining their life essence and killing them all. This shows that he is willing to HAPPY only kill children, but specifically targets them and is happy to commit mass child murder. Of course, he was also planning on killing the adults of the planet afterwards.
Ghidorah was also planning on wiping out all life on Planet Earth for himself, intending on wiping out humanity, feeding on the lifeforce of all beings on Earth and leaving the planet completely lifeless.
Ghidorah is a merciless, evil monster that is happy to exterminate entire planets for their life essence, is happy to exterminate all children and is responsible for the deaths of billions.
Moral Event Horizon[]
King Ghidorah crosses the event horizon many times by:
- Wiping out the dinosaurs and most life on Earth for their life essence.
- Trying to decimate many highly populated cities.
- Kidnapping every child in Japan, imprisoning them, attempting to devour their life essence.
- Attempting to destroy all life on Earth.
Heinous factor[]
The Godzilla franchise has a high heinous standard, with many sadistic, murderous, genocidal, planet conquering and planet destroying monsters. Even in the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy, the standard is set high by Desghidorah. But Grand King Ghidorah is another strong contender for the most evil villain in the franchise. His extermination of the dinosaurs and killing of most life on Earth in the Cretaceous era and his attempt to destroy all life on Earth proves that he is comparable to Desghidorah and other versions of Ghidorah. His attempted mass child slaughter is also uniquely evil to him, as most other Godzilla villains are indiscriminate in their murdering and do not specifically target children.
Mitigating factors[]
None. Everything is does is evil and, like many other versions of Ghidorah, he has clear moral agency, being highly intelligent, constructing a dome for his harvest and even mind controlling others, such as turning the Elias against one another.
Conclusion[]
I think he qualifies.
