"Would you die for me?"

Raynare is pure evil.

What's the work

Highschool DXD is a supernatural harem light novel and anime series that focuses on a perverted high school boy named Issei Hyodo who desires to be a harem king and is killed by his first date, revealed to be a fallen angel, but is later revived as a devil by Rias Gremory to serve her and her devil family.

Who is she

She is a fallen angel who pretends to be a schoolgirl so she can get close to Issei and kill him. Issei is then revived by Rias. She then attempts to kill Asia and take her twilight healing power for herself, succeeding briefly. Issei tries to rescue Asia and ends up overpowering and defeating her. She is then killed by Rias and Asia is revived.

Heinous factor

Raynare's crimes include:

  • Murdered an innocent boy for sacred gear, betraying her master's orders in the process, after manipulating him.
  • Wanted the power of Twilight Healing for herself, so she killed Asia to gain it.
  • Mocked Issei after killing Asia and attempting to kill him again.
  • After being defeated, she cowardly pretended to love Issei and begged him to help her, another trick to kill him.

This shows she is willing to kill innocent people merely so she can obtain more power for herself. She is also cruel due to how she cruelly mocks her enemies when at their lowest point, right after someone they love has died. It also shows she has no honor, as she tries to deceive her enemies into letting their guard down before killing them, though she was unsuccessful.

Redeeming factors

None. While she did work for Azaezel, she ended up disobeying his orders for her own pleasure - killing Issei on her own accord, showing that she isn't truly loyal to him.

Final Verdict

Leaning towards a yes.
