"I thought it was what you wanted". Very impactful, and straight to the point that she knows all she did was for nothing. C'est la vie, but still very heartbreakingly sad.

Going straight to the point, I felt like I had to do this since I proposed her to begin with, and now, things changed. If you want my opinion I actually like her character more this way, and feel the way they decided to deal with her character to be genuinely interesting.

Also, outside of maybe a collab, this will be the last post I'll make in a while. I will announce here that I'm planning to take a break from Fandom and Discord for around a whole month, and will only return around late Febuary or early March. I'll still open my Discord around once in a while to see if anything related to me on the servers and Fandom happened, but I'll almost be entirely offline.

With that said, I'll begin my removal for a character who I won't lie wasn't expecting on going the direction it did, and I'm not complaining. And finally with permission from Pro-Wrestler, let's begin.

What's the work?[]

Castlevania: Nocturne is a sequel to Netflix's Castlevania which was based on the video game franchise of the same name. Taking place 300 years after the original series, it follows Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor, and his allies as they go through the French Revolution, with the aristocrats aiding the monarchy being actual vampires who follow the one they see as a godess, that being none other than the so called "Most Evil Woman in the World", Erzsebet Báthory.

The one we'll be talking about will be her right-hand, who has actually been using her and turned Erzsebet into the vampiric godess she is now. A former Egyptian priestess, and the one responsible for the events of the last two seasons.

Who is she?[]

Drolta Tzuentes was a woman who devoted herself to Sekmeth, the godess of healing and war, to make herself stronger to protect her people. One day, her whole group was wiped out, and Drolta, finding a vampire, killed him and drank her blood, becoming imortal and now powerful as she always wanted.

After this, she gained the desire to bring Sekmeth into the world, believing that it was her wish to do so. After centuries of failure, she decided to use Erzebet Banthory as the host of Sekmeth, having her drink the godess' blood.

Since then, she became devoted to Erzsebet due to believing she was the godess she admired and helped her in bringing about eternal night so vampires would be able to rule the world.

Why she doesn't count?[]

Straight to the point, the second season starts off its first episode by giving her some nuance, and they only went from there. We start with a flashback of a past Drolta, who was once a kind egyptian woman who took care of the people of her community, and spent her time begging her godess to give her strength to fight against those who wanted to harm her and the people she looked after.

Then, a group invaded her home and killed her people, with only Drolta remaining alive as she was knocked out by one of the invaders. She later broke down in tears and implored Sekmeth to make her strong, with her then finding a vampire and killing him, drinking his blood and achieving what she had always had hoped for.

This is, a pretty tragic past, that affects her in the present as she is still motivated to aid Sekmeth because of her supposedly helping Drolta in her darkest times, and fights for what she thinks her godess would want. She is unable to accept the fact that all she did was actually go against Sekmeth's wishes, and breaks down in tears.

This in addition shows how absolutely loyal she is to Sekmeth, because all Drolta does is for her. Centuries of work to honor the one she is devoted to. She may not give a crap about Erzebet, but she still served her under the idea that she was her godess personafied, and was beyond disappointed when she was proven wrong.

Also, she cared greatly for her people, helping them as a healer. A particular example being when she gave medicine to a young child and even caressed her head after doing so. When her home was attacked, she actually tried to stop them before being knocked unconscious.

In another flashback, she was also in tears when one of her followers were sacrificed for nothing, showing she also cared for them. Overall, she is given a tragic past that is given heavy focus and sympathy, in addition to being undyingly devoted her godess and being in tears when she realized she actually went against her wishes, saying that everything she did, she did it because "[She] thought it was what [Sekmeth] wanted", and even outside of that, it was shown that she cared greatly for her people and originals followers.

Final Verdict?[]

Overall, solid cut, felt I had to take responsibility for this.
