What is the work?[]
Goblin Slayer was a light novel series where it follows a nameless adventurer, the eponymous Goblin Slayer, whose definitive trait is his deep hatred for the wretched goblins of his setting and seeks to eradicate them all (though he is open to there being "good" goblins somewhere in the world..at least until that is demonstrated). Other characters include the Priestess who was saved by the Goblin Slayer after her first party was slaughtered by a horde of goblins, among others.
So the villain I feel should be removed? The Goblin Lord.
Why he should be removed[]
This was the issue I had when the Goblin Lord was first proposed. In the series, goblins are inherently always chaotic evil. As has been said, all goblins are sadistic, mass slaughtering, serial raping bastards. In this case while the Goblin Lord is without a doubt smarter than the goblins under his command, that doesn't mean that it immediately removes his moral agency issues because he is nevertheless acting on his evil nature.
Other goblins...while some goblins can be made intelligent through religion, they still do not have a capacity for goodness. Unless there are some instances of there being genuinely "good" goblins, the Goblin Lord still is deeply under the thumb of coming from an always chaotic species but in his case, he is arguably more intelligent than the others but still shows nothing more other than his kind's sick love of raping and killing.
Verdict[]
Unless it is proven otherwise that goblins can make moral choices not boggled down by their drive to commit evil (as in some can be genuinely good), I'd say that virtually no goblin in the series should count.
