After Jackal (Gargoyles) got deleted on the Pure Evil Wiki for not being an "Approved Evil Article," I tried to rack my brain on how to set up his proposal, but it looks like I may have to propose to have him removed.

Who is Jackal?[]

Jackal is a member of The Pack, a group of fighters with a popular TV show, eventually becoming recurring adversaries of the Manhattan Clan. Before that, he and his sister, Hyena were mercenaries. After a number of defeats from Goliath and the Manhattan Clan, Coyote revealed that the Pack can have the upper edge through genetic augmentation or cybernetic implants. Jackal chose to me more machine than man in that. Eventually, we come across the episode, Grief, where he, Hyena, Wolf and Coyote were hired by an emir who plans to summon Anubis with the promise of obtaining immortality. The emir wanted Anubis to bring his son back from the dead, but after Anubis told him that immortality and resurrection were impossible, the emir decided to use drastic means by reading a scroll that would make him an avatar with Anubis’ powers. Jackal pushed the emir out of the way, and he became an avatar instead. He used those powers to rust out Coyote, turn Hyena and Wolf into infants, age Goliath, Elisa, Angela, and Bronx to the point where they could barely move, and relished on bringing death to the world, planning to kill the emir next. The emir thwarts him, and takes away his powers. Realizing that the dead can’t be brought back to life, he restores the gargoyles and Elisa’s youth and brought Hyena and Wolf into adulthood.

Why Doesn’t He Belong?[]

I’ll be honest, outside of Grief, what else does Jackal do? He kidnaps, conspires, and attempts murder. He doesn’t really go further than what he did in Grief. He even teams back with his sister as if the episode never happened. Gargoyles has a high enough standard as it is, and that’s not just including Thailog or Proteus. I mean Demona wanted to destroy all humanity. The Hunter wanted to destroy all gargoyles, but they’re not pure evil. Most of the time, Jackal is kept under control by his Pack teammates and/or his sister. It was just that one moment in Egypt that he goes out of control. Other than that, I can’t really think of other reasons why he’s pure evil.

Final Verdict[]

I’ll leave it up to you guys.
