Maleficent (Disney's Sleeping Beauty)
This proposal is about Maleficent from the 1959 Disney film Sleeping Beauty.
Who Is She?/What Has She Done?[]
Maleficent is an evil fairy who is the polar opposite of the three good fairies - Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. She cursed Aurora to die from the spindle of a spinning wheel at age 16 just because the former wasn't invited to the party.
Heinous Standard[]
Maleficent is purely evil and is easily one of Disney's most evil villains, if not the most evil Disney villain. She takes great pleasure in torturing and taunting her enemies, as shown in the scene where she taunts Flora, Fauna and Merryweather about the idea of defeating her (which she finds ridiculous) after Aurora pricked her finger, and also in the scene where she and her minions catch Prince Phillip in the house where Aurora was raised for 16 years. Also, she literally calls herself "The Mistress of all Evil".
Freudian Excuse[]
She is evil just for the sake of being evil. There is nothing that suggest that there was a disaster that drove her to be this way.
Individual Capability[]
As I stated above, Maleficent takes great pleasure in torturing and taunting her enemies, and she shows no remorse when she mercilessly cursed Aurora to prick her finger and die.
Moral Agency[]
As the Mistress of all Evil, it could be very possible that she crossed the Moral Event Horizon. She also attempted to murder Prince Phillip when she transformed into a dragon to prevent him from kissing Aurora and breaking the former's curse.
Redeeming Qualities[]
None.
No Sympathy[]
None.
Worst[]
As I stated above, she tried to kill Prince Phillip when she transformed into a huge dragon to prevent him from getting to Aurora and kissing her.
Verdict[]
Maleficent can be considered pure evil from any perspective. There is absolutely nothing with which to redeem her. She is easily one of the most evil Disney villains ever to exist, if not the most evil Disney villain ever to exist.
