Who is the Villain/What Does He Do?[]
President Coriolanus Snow was the president a Panem during the hunger games book trilogy he oversaw the Hunger Games which was a competition of teenagers being put in a death arena and being forced to kill each other until only one remained.
In the second book, her wages war on the Districts by bombing District 12 with chemical weapons and killing almost everyone inside. the only reason people survive is that Gale saw it coming and evacuated some.
In the third book, he subjects Peeta and Johanna to horrible torture and continues waging war against the distracts. After a while, he is finally beaten and killed during his execution after Katniss executes Coin instead.
This is a massive oversimplification honestly but it doesn’t really make a difference because of what I am about to cover.
Why Doesn't the Villain Qualify?[]
In the prequel book The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, it is shown that he genuinely cared about his family. His signature rose was a symbol to honour his grandmother which isn’t subverted because he had it too his death. He also had a lover named Lucy Gray who he genuinely cared about and once Lucy leaves him he avoids love for the rest of his life
And it also revealed he is a Well-Intentioned Extremist that genuinely believed that the hunger games were good due to the capital and him being bombarded by rebels which caused them to starve and even resort to cannibalism, so he genuinely thinks it necessary in order to keep the distracts from rebelling. And he genuinely cared about Humanity and believed the capitol's regime was the best thing for them.
