from now on there's going to be a change in attitude on this wiki concerning the long practice a minority have had on treating Pure Evil as a badge of honor - this blog is going to be blunt because frankly this minority make those who value PE Proposals look like fools and have a toxic mentality that makes a mockery of the website.
From now on users who are blatantly glorifying PE in comments or in votes are facing a 3 day block, which will extend for each case they continue to do so.. it is clear that this minority don't take mods or admins seriously so now it ends.
what will happen from now on:
- users who blatantly up a character's evil deeds to try and get them qualified for PE will face blocks and removal from making proposals.. this is the practice of deliberately twisting a work to try and make a character's acts far worse than what they actually are, just to try and get them into PE.. if a character is PE they don't need your help to qualify them.. the work itself will show enough.. adding more or outright misinfo is just showing you value PE over facts.
- users who vote with "character *deserves* to be PE" or "about time" etc will face a warning then a block, PE is neutral even in votes - by saying a character "deserves" it you imply this is an honor.. you vote based on the facts given, simple as that.
- users who vote strongly on a character but who have not researched the work itself will be asked why they feel so strongly and if they know the work, if they have not researched the character and the work and can't give a good reason why they voted so strongly the vote may well be invalidated.. how can you expect to vote fairly and unbiased if you never even saw the work?
- users who downplay characters evil acts or positions as villains when they are rejected from PE will face bans unless they can explain why.
- users that cry out "abuse" etc when mods or admins enforce these rules face bans if they continue - wikis are not democracies.
this has become far too prolific on the wiki and is sinking us down as a whole, no more tolerance for this kind of stuff.
