Ushirobushi is a minor antagonist of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, serving as the primary antagonist of the episodes 11 and 12. He was a warrior-themed Ayakashi and the most feared among all of his kind.

He was voiced by Junichi Suwabe, in his first Super Sentai role, and actor also later voiced Tubaloid and Tubaloid 2 in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters and Lamp Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger.

Biography

Ushirobushi was armed with the Onikōbe Sekkeitō (鬼首楔形刀 Oni's Head Wedge Sword) that he uses in his Onigatana Nidangiri (鬼刀二段斬り Onigatana Two-Step Slash) attack, which is a combination of sound-waves leading into a multiple-slash attack which takes damage due to the set-up leaving the opponent open to attack. He also has a hand attack. He was sent by Shitari to the Human World and was tasked by his master to kill Takeru to prevent Shinken Red from mastering the sealing technique, which could imprison the Gedoshu overlord Doukoku Chimatsuri. Ushirobushi attacked Tokyo and encountered the Shinkengers.

The wraith easily bested all of the team due to his superior powers and strength, but due to the interference of Juzo Fuwa, he was forced to retreat, because Ushirobushi started drying out.

Ushirobushi later resumed his mission. Shinkengers prepared for their next battle with the wraith and created a strategy to hold him off. They defeat the Onigatana Nidangiri by having two members (Mako and Kotoha) block the sound waves, then two more (Ryunosuke and Chiaki) blocked the sword slashes before Takeru destroys him by the Two-Mode Transforming Rekka Daizantou Ozutsu Mode's Tora Five Rings Bullet. In his second life, the combination of Ushirobushi and an army of Oozora Nanashi Company forced ShinkenOh to it's knees and cause the Shinkengers to call upon DaiTenku to fuse with ShinkenOh and create the Tenku ShinkenOh for the first time, destroying all of them, before finishing Ushiroboshi with the Tenku Bamboo Slice.
