Captain Vala Glarios is a minor antagonist in the MMO third-person shooter Warframe.
She's a Corpus captain serving under and devoted follower of the resurfaced Corpus founder Parvos Granum. Glarios has made it her mission in life to hunt down the ghost ship the Tempestarii, a legendary Tenno Railjack vessel.
Stranded in the Void after her failure to destroy it, Glarios was rescued by Parvos and became his second-in-command.
She is voiced by Damhnait Doyle.
Appearance[]
Vala Glarios wears a black and cyan jumpsuit adorned with silvery metal. Typical for Corpus she has tattoos on her face, hers being blue lines that flow over her eyes and her cheeks down to her chin. In addition, cylindrical electronic devices cover her ears and her hair is braided with rings that cause it to float freely as if under water.
Personality[]
Vala Glarios for the most part projects the image of a composed and confident captain, which hides her deep-seated hatred for the Tempestarii. Notable is also her complete devotion to and near-worship of the Corpus founder, claiming territory in his name while rejecting the current Board of Directors.

Past[]
Glarios and her sisters were once workers on Lucretia Platform, a Corpus space station dedicated to travel attempts into the Void, a realm beyond the laws of science and logic. One day while Glarios was working in an exosuit, her station came under attack by The Tempestarii, a ship reknowned for the sheer number of rescue missions it undertook during the Old War between the Orokin Empire and the Sentients, saving over two thousand lives. Believed to be lost forever during a Void storm, Lucretia Platform's final incursion into the Void brought the attention of the Tempestarii, which turned hostile for unknown reasons and destroyed the station, leaving Glarios as the only survivor. Being forced to watch the frozen bodies drift along with her while she waited for rescue, she swore vengeance on the Tempestarii for taking them from her.
Call of the Tempestarii[]
Years after the destruction of Lucretia Platform the area has become a "Voidspace redzone", meaning that any travel through the region is forbidden as doing so poses a great risk of being caught in a dangerous Void storm. When a Corpus Convoy was detected making its way to this long abandoned area, Tenno Cephalon Cy sent a Tenno to investigate, believing it to be a good opportunity to scavenge some resources from the destroyed ships before another Void storm arrives. After destroying some Corpus scouts and scavengers sent to retrieve the lost shipments, Vala Glarios entered the field with her flagship to introduce herself and claim the sector in the name of Parvos Granum. Before they could enter a proper fight however, a third ship arrived with the storm and attacked both Tenno and Corpus. Glarios immediately recognized the ship and ordered an immediate report to the founder, though all parties had to retreat before the storm and the Tempestarii destroyed them all.
Infiltrating a Corpus archive to learn what Glarios knew about the mysterious ghost ship, Cy remembered the Tempestarii's exemplary reputation upon hearing its name. He believed that since the ship kept sending out a transmission asking "who waits for the shadow", its restlessness might be caused by the need to finish the mission it couldn't when it was sucked into the Void all those years ago. After a rough first attempt, Cy and the Tenno manage to convince the Tempestarii that they are trying to help and are allowed on-board. On the bridge, a shadowy entity waited for them and beckoned for their help in locating a final rescue target. But just as they were restoring the data, Vala Glarios arrived and thanked them for their help in making the ship vulnerable, capturing it so she can tear it apart piece by piece.
The Tenno, still aboard the ship, destroyed the device used to tether the Tempestarii into place and took control of the helm. Glarios decided that it was better to just blow the Tempestarii up immediately before it could slip out of her grasp again, but her fighters proved no match for it. The Tenno launched a special missle the Tempestarii itself had charged at Glarios's flagship, opening a massive rift that dragged her and her ship into the Void just like the Tempestarii once was, cursing the Tenno and swearing that her Corpus sisters would avenge her.
While the Tenno were ultimately successful in fulfilling its final mission and putting the Tempestarii to rest, Glarios once again managed to survive. Injured but alive, she found herself stranded in the Granum Void, a special region of the Void where Parvos Granum was once trapped in. She didn't stay within for long however, as the great founder himself came to her rescue and offered her his hand.
Sisters of Parvos[]
Following her rescue from the Void, Vala Glarios became the right hand of Parvos Granum, managing the newly-formed Sisters of Parvos, keeping him informed on new candidates that wish to join their table and giving promotions to those that prove themselves.
Jade Shadows[]
Vala Glarios appears briefly at the end of the quest, having been summoned by Captain Xeto to bear witness to her conquest of the Stalker's long-hidden stronghold and whatever it is that he has been hiding within. Xeto hoped this display of her tactical abilities and ambitions would be enough to convince Vala to make her a Sister of Parvos. It is unlikely Vala fulfilled this request, as Xeto ultimately let the Stalker go.
