Valac, also known by many other names, is a demon from the Lesser Key of Solomon, one of many important texts in demonology - the ancient study of demons and other related occult beings.
He is the Great President of Hell with over 30 legions of demons at his command. Valac manifests as an angelically winged boy riding a two-headed dragon and it possesses the power to find treasures. His office is to give true Answers of hidden treasures, and to tell where serpents may be seen.
History[]

Valac's sigil
The first known reference to the name "Valac" was found in a 17th-century grimoire titled Clavicula Salomonis Regis, or the The Key of Solomon, which lists the 72 demons that the king supposedly vanquished during his reign. According to it, Valac controls a legion of serpentine spirits and can summon serpents to see to his evil bidding. Valak is the 62nd spirit listed by Solomon, according to which he appeareth like a boy with angels wings, riding on a two-headed dragon. His special power, according to the text, is finding snakes and hidden treasures while leading an army of 30 demons.

- Valak is the main antagonist in The Conjuring Universe (portrayed by Bonnie Aarons), first appearing as the main antagonist of The Conjuring 2 and later The Nun and its sequel The Nun II. This version of the demon takes on the form of a spectral Nun and The Crooked Man from the rhyme "There Was a Crooked Man".
- Valak appears in the first season of Shadowhunters, where it is summoned by the hunters to retrieve Clary Fairchild's lost memories.

- Ualac is a major antagonist in Hellboy: Box Full of Evil.
- A demon named Clara Valac is the main character of the manga series Welcome to Demon School! and its anime adaptation. She is a hyperactive demon girl who can make copies of anything she sees.
- Volac is a minor antagonist in the anthology series Wonder Woman: Black & Gold.

Valac appears as the fourth boss in the video game Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. This version is depicted as a two-headed dragon that can fuse and became even bigger. He later appears in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
