“ | Valentina: Oh, Maxime. Maxime: No, no. Wait, wait. Not Maxime. What if I start going by "Cockroach Man," huh? Little on the nose, but it is very clear. It's good, no? Valentina: Ugh. I am not calling you that stupid name, but I love this evil plan. |

Valentina is the secondary antagonist of Illumination's 15th feature film, Despicable Me 4, the fourth installment in the Despicable Me franchise. She is Maxime Le Mal's girlfriend and assistant.
She was voiced by Sofia Vergara, who also played Zaina in Koati, Lydia in The Three Stooges, T.T. in Madea Goes to Jail, and Madame Desdemona in Machete Kills.
Personality[]
She seems to be in love with Maxime Le Mal due to his evil personality.
Appearance[]
Valentina is very tall with brown eyes and long black hair in a high ponytail, with a long thin nose, pointy chin and red lipstick. She wears large white square shaped sunglasses and a pink outfit with white gloves.
Biography[]
Valentina was popular during her time at Lycee Pas Bon School of Villainy, with her boyfriend introducing her as captain of the Femme Fatal Gym Squad in her school-time. At the beginning of the movie, she was present at the reunion of students.
After Maxime had escaped out of AVL prison, she came along to his lair, while his coackroach army, greeted him. Valentina was also happy and excited with Maxime' evil plan of revenge at Felonious Gru. Then, they emerge into the surface, using a massive cockroach ship, which Le Mal has builded. On their way to Gru, Maxime reveals why he holds grudge against him.
Valentina then informs Maxime that they have run out of fuel. In order to refill it, they stop by a mundane gas station. The two villains, after being informed by Übelschlecht about Gru's location, flies to Mayflower. Before they could even break in & take Gru Jr., he just so managed to be outside. They use the opportunity to take him & gloat against Gru as his efforts to catch up to their fleeing ship become futile. Gru & his next-door neighbor, Poppy Prescott, manage to get to them through a flying carriage. Gru gets on the ship to get his son back, but by the time they stop at a construction site, Maxime has turned Gru Jr. against him. Valentina tries to destroy Gru with the giant cockroach machine, but the construction site does not stand the pressure and the vehicle (along with her) falls. Soon, her boyfriend was also defeated.
At the end of the movie, at AVL prison, Gru and Maxime were singing "Everybody wants to rule the world". Valentina (with her dog) was there putting on her lipstick. Unlike the other prisoners, she was visibly not interested in the performance.
Quotes[]
“ | Maxime: Anyway, you remember my girlfriend, Valentina? She was the captain of the Femme Fatale cheer squad, and the most popular girl in school, huh? Gru: I remember. Good to see you, Valentina. Valentina: [scoffs] [dog growls]. |

Trivia[]
- Ironically, despite being announced as a femme fatale-type of character, Valentina looks anything but attractive with her pointy face. This was likely on purpose to make the character funnier.
- Sofía Vergara accepted the role of Valentina out of attraction to the character's confidence and allure, prompting her to look for a voice that displayed her fierce determination and confidence, fleshing her out and allowing Vergara to find softer and more vulnerable sides of her.
- Curiously, her dog was imprisoned with her despite not committing any actual crimes (although it's possible the dog simply choose to be imprisoned so that the dog can stay with her).
