The Valuan Empire are a powerful empire seeking to dominate the world with their fleet of warships and the main antagonists of the Sega Dreamcast RPG Skies of Arcadia.
History[]
Under orders from Empress Teodora, the Valuan Armada began searching for the Moon Crystals in order to use them to reawaken the Gigas and take over the world. The Silver Civilization learns of the Valuan Empire's plans and sends Fina to find the Moon Crystals first, but she is captured by the Armada. However, she saved by Vyse and Aika, members of the air pirate group known as the Blue Rogues and the three team up to stop the Valuan Armada.
The Valuans later attacked the Blue Rogues and Drachma, a fisherman they were riding with, after the three obtain the Red Moon Crystal. The attack leaves Vyse separated from Aika and Fina, who are captured by Valuan Vice-Captain Ramirez and imprisoned in the Valuan prison fortress. However, with help from the Valuan crown prince Enrique, who was fed up with the tyranny of Valua, they escape by stealing a powerful Valuan warship, the Delphinus and reunite with Vyse at Crescent Island.
After the Blue Rogues obtain the Blue Moon Crystal, Purple Moon Crystal and Yellow Moon Crystal and retake Fina's ship, a Valuan fleet commanded by Ramirez attacks the Blue Rogues and steals their Moon Crystals. Ramirez and Lord Admiral Galcian later pursue Vyse, Aika, Fina, and Gilder when they travel to the Great Silver Shrine in orbit and kill the leader of the Silvite elders before extracting the final Moon Crystal from his body.
With all the Moon Crystals in his possession, Galcian uses them to raise the lost Silver continent of Soltis. Galcian uses the Rains of Destruction to destroy the Valuan capital and kill Empress Teodora in a coup to seize control of Valua. With the Valuan Armada and the Rains of Destruction under his command, Galcian prepares to use them to force the world to bow to him, but Vyse brings together a combined fleet of Blue Rogues, Yafutoman warships, and ships from other regions of the world to fight against Galcian and the Valuan Armada. The Delphinus crew disables Galcian's flagship the Hydra and boards it to defeat Galcian.
Galcian meets his end when his subordinate Belleza turns against him and rams her ship into his in a suicide run, killing them both. Having retreated into Soltis, Galcian's second-in-command Ramirez attempts to avenge Galcian's death by using the Rains of Destruction to wipe out the Blue Rogues, but the Silvites sacrifice their lives to take down the protective shield around Soltis and allow the party to enter and confront Ramirez. Ramirez merges with the Silver Gigas, Zelos, and awakens it to do battle against the Delphinus. The Delphinus defeats Zelos but a chunk of Zelos that fused with Ramirez lands on the Delphinus's deck. Ramirez fights the crew in a final stand and is killed, putting an end to the Valuan Armada.
In the aftermath of the war's conclusion, Crown Prince Enrique became the new emperor and married a princess of Yafutoma. With the promise of a new age of benevolent rule, Enrique and his wife set to work on reconstructing the Valuan capital.
