~ Vamonos Pest's slogan

Vamonos Pest, Spanish for Let's go Pest are major characters in the AMC crime drama series Breaking Bad.

They were a fumigation company from Albuquerque, New Mexico whose members would bolster their income by robbing the houses they would work on. It was formerly own by a man named Ira, until it was subsequently bought by Walter White, Jesse Pinkman and Mike Ehrmantraut in order to serve as a front for their methamphetamine business.

History[]

Background[]

Vamonos Pest's original crew.

Vamonos Pest acted as a legitmate fumigation company in the area of Albuquerque, New Mexico ever since its foundation in 2004. Even before being bought off by Walter White's drug operation, the company was already involved in shady, criminal business, as its employees had the tendency to rob the tented houses in order to boost their income. Because of that, Saul Goodman would oftentimes act as a lawyer for the company's thugs and would subsequently introduce them to Walter.

Breaking Bad[]

After Gus Fring's death and the fall of Los Pollos Hermanos, Walter White, in an attempt to rebuild his empire and maintain his strain on the meth business, bought Vamonos Pest from Ira as advised by Saul Goodman. With Walt in charge of the company, the Vamonos crew stopped their burglary practices, now with the business being used as a front for cooking the blue meth. As part of the operation, Walter and Jesse would use the tented houses as makeshift mobile labs to cook their methamphetamine. Once the cook was complete, the crew would bomb the house with fumigation chemicals which would mask and residue of the cook.

Sandor and Fernando, two of the original employees of the company were forbidden to speak to Walter, Jesse and Mike, instead just being in charge of setting up the tents, leaving the task of cooking meth to Walt and Jesse themselves. The employee Todd Alquist, on the other hand, ended up climbing the ranks and earned Walter's trust, with him becoming a more active member and helper of the chemist.

Following the death of Mike and Jesse's departure due to the murder of Drew Sharp, the company ended up being dissolved with Walt being left as the sole owner and Declan being left in charge of the meth cooking. The now former employee, Todd, however, continued in the meth business and staged a coup with the aid of his uncle's gang on Walt's empire by killing Declan and taking control of his cook equipment. After this, Vamonos Pest is never seen or used again and it's unknown what happened to its other employees, Sandor and Fernando.

Trivia[]

  • The name of the company is actually spelled incorrectly, as the word Vámonos in Spanish has an accent in the "a".
  • Following Walt's trend to copy the traits of his killed victims, his use of the company might his own attempt to mimic Gus Fring's usage of Los Pollos Hermanos as a front business for his meth operation.
