The Vampire Coast is a faction of undead pirates from the setting of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, led by the mad vampire pirate king Luthor Harkon. Originally a sub-faction for the Vampire Counts in the tabletop game, it got turned into its own big faction in the videogame Total War Warhammer 2.
Biography[]
The undead pirates take residence in the east coast of the jungle continent of Lustria, the land of the Lizardmen.
It was the vampire lord Luthor Harkon that conquered a portion of Lustria's east coast. Bordered to the east by the Great Ocean (also known as the "World Pond") and to the west by the great jungle, the Vampire Coast remains fairly wild. To the north, a jungle-filled peninsula separates the Vampire Coast from the Tarantula Coast. Near the shoreline, the reawakened City of Huatl of the Lizardmen dominates the treeline while Tlax, the City of Ghosts, remains shrouded within the jungle. At the southern end of the Coast, east of the delta of the River Lambada, one finds the Volcanic Islands. West of the delta lies the ruins of the City of Axlotl, empty and despoiled by Luthor Harkon's undead hordes. Ever since, it has been a domain where the zombies and vampire buccaneers stir, leading expeditions into the jungle interior or setting sail across the Great Ocean to commit wanton acts of piracy. But the insane Commodore Harkon is not the only unliving leader who takes to the seas with pistol-armed crews of zombies, vampiric depth guard, ghosts and mournguls, there are other pirate lords who command dreadfleets of their own, pirate lords like Count Noctilus, Aranessa Saltspite and Cylostra Direfin.
