The Van Buren Boys are a New York City street gang with a cult-like idolization toward the eighth U.S. president, Martin Van Buren and the titular antagonists of the Seinfeld episode of the same name.
Attacking Kramer[]
When Cosmo Kramer, an unemployed oddball New Yorker goes to Lorenzo's Pizza, they confront him. Kramer accidentally flashes their gang sign, the number eight (8, as in Van Buren the 8th president of The United States of America) and leaves him alone after thinking he is a former member of the gang.
Against George Constanza[]
Steve Koren, the former protege of executive assistant George Costanza takes away his scholarship after a falling out, somehow becomes a member of the gang and wants revenge on George. One day, the gang, including Koren confront and threaten George with bodily harm unless he gives it back to Steve. However, as he has no intention of doing so, he goes to Kramer for help with dealing with the gang but only tells him subtly they won't harm a former member.
When the gang confront George again, he tells them he is a former member. As they don't believe him, he tries to do their sign, but fails. They tell him to rob someone and he barely agrees. George tries to series protagonist Jerry Seinfeld 's parents as they happen to walk by. After accepting defeat, George runs away from the gang and screams while being chased.
