Vanessa "Vana" Glama XX is a main character from the YTV animated series Sidekick. She is the 12-year-old pretty and popular girl at Sidekick Academy, who is training to someday become a superhero sidekick. She is the best friend of Kitty Ko and the love interest of Eric Needles, despite her not reciprocating the latter's feelings.
Vana is known to be incredibly vile and hateful toward others, caring a great deal about herself and treating everyone else. Mainly, she likes to physically abuse Eric for sadistic purposes and she also likes to bully her own best friend, Kitty to make herself feel better by comparison. Occasionally, Vana will exhibit overtly villainous tendencies, such as a desire to take over the entire school and intentionally endangering the lives and well-being of all her friends for selfish reasons. These moments have made her into an anti-hero.
She is voiced by Stephanie Anne Mills.
Biography[]
Vana Glama was born to Moon Ray Glama and an unknown father. She was the younger sister of Savannah Glama, who was the fat more successful superhero sister to her normal sidekick self. As such, she had always felt inferior to her sister, which gave her a "Type A" personality, where she was always determined to be as strong and powerful as possible.
At 12 years old, Vana attends Sidekick Academy, a middle school where she trains to someday be a superhero sidekick. There, she is best friends with Kitty Ko, and also occasionally hangs out with Eric Needles and Trevor Troublemeyer, despite her hating them both and deeming them to be disgusting, incompetent, and stupid.
Appearance[]
Vana Glama is a 12-year-old girl with vibrant orange hair, white skin, and a mostly pink outfit. She wears a pink dress with a light pink stripe going across it, a magenta hairband, magenta earrings, white knee socks with light pink stripes on them, and pink shoes.
Personality[]
Vana Glama is a beautiful and fashionable girl, who is also extremely competitive when it comes to sideicking.
Villainous Acts[]
- In "The Bogey Man", Vana was determined to win a mini-golf tournament against Eric and threatened to trap all of her friends in The Bogey Man's snow globe for all eternity just to prove a point. Although she was unsuccessful in winning the golf tournament,
- In "Family Fun Day", Vana got mad at her mom, Moon Ray, for being about peace and love, so she attempted to vaporize her to oblivion with a death ray.
- In "The Short List", Vana took over the Maxum Mansion as Galacta-Lass and locked everybody else out, except for herself. She tortured

- In "The Land Before Grunk", Vana was mad that Grunk was in love with Kitty instead of herself, so she broke into Grunk's gave, beat up and murdered a bunch of his pet dinosaurs, and used a freeze ray to imprison Eric, Trevor, Kitty, and Grunk in a glacier forever. When she did this, she went rabid and started acting like a primitive neanderthal, herself.
- In "Hullabaloo", Vana was mad about the fact that her sister, Savannah, was coming to Splittsboro, so she took out her anger on Professor Pamplemoose by beating him senseless in the middle of class and stuffing a time bomb in his mouth to blow him to pieces. Vana was so mad at her sister, Savannah, for being more pretty and popular than her, that she took out another time bomb and caused a nuclear explosion and vanquished to oblivion, presumably destroying her entirely.

- In "Those Who Can't Teach", Vana tortured and beat up Professor Pamplemoose so that she could take over his class and make herself the teacher. When she did, she made it a class project to torture and beat up Eric.
Trivia[]
- Her name is a pun on "Fan of Glamour", which is what she is.
- Despite being a villainous anti-hero in the series, Vana was originally portrayed as a hero in the Funpak pilot series.
- Vana's personality is very similar to Dana from Wayside and she bears a striking resemblance to Daphne Blake's younger self from A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.
