Vanessa Jansen, also known as Block, was a minor antagonist in season 5 of The Flash.
She was a meta-human weapons dealer with the ability to create concentrated dense boxes of air that she used for both offensive and defensive measures. Jansen fought the Flash and XS while trying to sell a large supply of guns, only to be killed by Cicada.
Vanessa Jansen was a low level weapons dealer in Central City who supplied local gangs with various weapons. She was eventually sold out by gangster Bobby Moretti and his older brother, Bruno and ended up spending four years in Iron Heights.
During that time, Jansen somehow gained meta-human powers (presumably from S.T.A.R. Labs' particle accelerator) which allowed her to create force-fields shaped like blocks out of thin air.
Revenge[]
In 2018, Jansen got out of prison and sought vengeance against the Moretti brothers. First she killed Bobby by trapping him inside a force field and compressed his entire body leaving behind partial remains that are later examined by forensic scientist, Barry Allen.
Death[]
Jansen was later confronted once again by Bruno only this time he brought his gang with him as back up. Bruno ordered Jansen to return the weapons, but she refused and shielded herself from their weapons. The Flash and XS super speed Bruno and his men away the two heroes fought Jansen once again and appeared to have momentarily exhausted her abilities only for her to trap Barry in one of her boxes, leaving XS to fight Jansen by herself. After dodging numerous attacks, Nora was able to defeat Jansen, but Cicada arrived and pierced Jansen's neck with his dagger. Nora attempted to save Jansen's life by taking her to the hospital while the other heroes stayed to fight Cicada. In "The Death of Vibe", it was revealed that Jansen succumbed to her injuries and is dead.
Post-Crisis[]
In the new Multiverse, Vanessa Jansen was revealed to have been brought back to life by Oliver Queen.
