Varon and Temjin are minor antagonists in the manga/anime series Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. They were a pair of a bishop and a sage who planned to have Princess Leona killed to have control over the Kingdom of Papnica.
In Japanese, Varon was voiced by Yoku Shioya in the 1991 anime and Tetsuya Kakihara in the 2020 anime, and Temjin was voiced by Hiroshi Masuoka and Kinpei Azusa in the 1991 anime and Hiroshi Naka in the 2020 anime. In English, Varon was voiced by Brian Drummond and Temjin was voiced by Ron Halder in the 2020 anime.

Both Varon and Temjin were power hungry and cold hearted, as they planned to have Princess Leona and her guards killed to have total control over the Kingdom of Papnica.
Biography[]
After three months of the defeat of the Fake Heroes, Leona, the princess of Papnica, went to the Delmurin Island to receive blessings from the Earth Gods in a cave on the Island together with Varon and Temjin and her guards. However, Temjin planned to have Leona killed, so he had Varon to release a monstrous scorpion to kill Leona and her guards. While Dai defeated it, Leona was intoxicated, so he needed to bring her back to Brass to heal Leona. However, Varon cast a spell to knock Dai and Leona into the cave.
Soon, Gome told Brass what happened, who was instantly surrounded by Temjin's minions. Brass summoned the monsters on the island to get them away, but Varon noticed this and piloted the Killing Machine, easily defeating the monsters. Temjin told Varon to kill Brass, so no one could save Leona from scumbling to the toxins of the scorpion. Luckily, Dai saved Brass, however Dai's spell was unable to damage the Killing Machine, and Varon, who was consumed by the power of the robot, attacked Temjin by throwing him against a rock. Soon, Dai found out the Killing Machine's weakness and casted Sizzle towards the crack on the machine, burning Varon, defeating him for good. They were then arrested after they returned to the Kingdom of Papnica.
