Shauna Vayne is a playable character in League of Legends. While Vayne's entire life is dedicated to hunting evildoers and purging Runeterra of their wickedness, the tragedy that shaped her has made her completely and utterly uncompromising in her pursuit of evil. This has lead to not only murdering innocent people, but ready and willing to instantly kill heroic characters she deems evil because of their use of dark magic. She ultimately learns to accept that not all who wield dark magics are evil. She is the archnemesis of Evelynn.
She was originally voiced by Nika Futterman, and later Alexa Kahn.
Personality[]
Vayne's life was almost damaged beyond repair when at a tender young age, the succubus Evelynn brutally tortured and murdered her parents. From this moment onward, Vayne developed an unforgiving, nigh psychotic level of hatred towards monsters, demons, and any and all who wield dark powers. Wholly uncompromising in her mindset, her hatred for these things is so extreme that even the woman who took her in and raised her as her own daughter after that terrible night, was murdered by her without hesitation or remorse when she was revealed to be a wielder of apparent dark magic, made all the worse as her adoptive mother just saved her life. This violent, sociopathic mentality also lead to her almost murdering Senna during The Harrowing unleashed by Viego, not caring that she was a Sentinel tasked with protecting the world from the same kind of monsters Vayne hates.
It is however during this invasion by the undead that Vayne finally accepts that not all who wield powers considered dark are evil themselves, and willingly remains a member of The Sentinels ever since. Despite this, she remains emotionally cold and distant towards her allies, and keeps her unrelenting disgust and maniacal joy of killing monsters, slaying them being the only moments she feels any kind of genuine happiness.
Trivia[]
