Vedrfolnir, also known as The Visionary, is a major antagonist in the 2020 action role-playing fantasy video game Genshin Impact.
Vedrfolnir was the older brother of Dainsleif and one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah, a group of Khaenri'ahns who gained incomprehensible power by tapping into the Abyss. He was the chief subject of worship for the Abyss Order, and was indirectly involved in its founding.
Vedrfolnir is voiced by Anqi Yu in Chinese and by Kenyu Horiuchi in Japanese. Horiuchi has also voiced Mashymre Cello in Mobile Suit Gundam.

Synopsis[]
Vedrfolnir hailed from the Kingdom of Khaenri'ah, a subterranean nation ruled by a monarchy known as the Eclipse Dynasty. As opposed to the nations above ground that placed their faith in gods that ruled over them, the people of Khaenri'ah put their faith in themselves and strived to flourish via scientific advancement. A member of a minor noble family, Vedrfolnir had a younger brother named Dainsleif. Known as "The Visionary," Vedrfolnir was an oracle capable of witnessing the future. After providing a particular oracle, the Visionary was blinded in both eyes and imprisoned.
At some point, Vedrfolnir, alongside four other Khaenri'ahns named Hroptatyr, Rerir, Rhinedottir, and Surtalogi, became enticed by the power of the Abyss, a mysterious realm composed of endless darkness that existed separate from the Human Realm. Dividing the power of the Abyss between them, the five Khaenri'ahns gained world-shattering power. The Heavenly Principles that ruled Teyvat destroyed Khaenri'ah for the actions of Vedrfolnir and his peers, who would later become known as the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah. Despite their newfound power, the Five Sinners did nothing to defend Khaenri'ah.

- Abyss Manipulation: Vedrfolnir had the ability to manipulate "the Abyss," a mysterious darkness that originated from or was related to the Void Realm. The Visionary was irrefutably powerful, to the point that his capabilities seemingly surpassed that of the gods themselves. He seemed to have a form of omniscient knowledge, as he knew intrinsically about Chlothar Alberich's entire life despite never personally encountering him before and, according to Dainsleif, was likely able to recognise that the Traveler saw him when they viewed their sibling's memories.

- The etymology of figures, places, and concepts related to the Kingdom of Khaenri'ah were derived from the various stories of Norse mythology. "Veðrfölnir," meaning "wind bleached," was the name of a hawk in Norse mythology that sat in between the eyes of a large eagle. The eagle was said to be perched atop Yggdrasil, the world tree that functioned as the center of the cosmos.
