Vega is Victor Sagat's right-hand man, Ryu's archenemy, and a major antagonist in the 1994 live-action film Street Fighter, based on the video-game character of the same name.
He was portrayed by Jay Tavare.
Biography[]
Vega was a famous cage fighter, champion, enforcer, and personal bodyguard of the warlord Victor Sagat. He was also his second-in command. He was very famous among the crowd, especially the women, and enjoyed their cheering. He was first seen fighting and brutally beating an unnamed fighter in an underground fight in Shadaloo City. After Ryu and Ken were kidnapped by his boss Sagat, Vega was set to fight Ryu. Vega thought it would be an easy fight but after seeing Ryu's skills with a knife as well as seeing some of his fans change sides and support Ryu he became upset and took the fight seriously. Before the two coud start fighting, Colonel William Guile arrived and arrested everyone.

Vega was later seen attempting to fight Ryu once again in prison, this time with a different weapon than his usual claws. The two briefly fought with Ryu managing to disarm him before being stopped by the UN troops once again. Despite their rivalry, Vega and Ryu later put their differences aside and worked together to escape from the UN headquarters. Unlike his boss Sagat, Vega didn't seem to trust Ryu and Ken and didn't enjoy hanging out with them as seen during a show at the market. He was also present in a meeting between Sagat and his ally General M. Bison.
Vega along with Sagat and the rest of his men were then moved to Bison's fortress. It was soon revealed that Ryu and Ken acted as spies for behalf of Guile and had tricked Sagat and Vega, who then wanted to avenge this humiliation by killing them. After the U.N forces invaded the fortress Vega and Sagat followed Ryu and Ken who decided to split up. Ryu was ambushed by Vega who scarred him in the chest with his claws. Ryu kicked him back and the two finally started to fight with no distractions. As Vega was having trouble on his own, Sagat also joined the fight and the two quickly gained the upper hand on Ryu until Ken arrived. Vega took on Ryu while Sagat dealt with Ken. After a fierce fight Ryu managed to beat Vega with a strong kick to the face that injured his neck as he was unable to move well or get up. Sagat also lost to Ken but soon recovered and decided to escape the fortress along with Dee Jay, leaving Vega behind to die in the upcoming explosion.
