~ The Vegetarians' catchphrase. |
The Vegetarians or the L.A.M.E are minor antagonists in POSTAL 2: Apocalypse Weekend. They are a group of brutal animal lovers who want to force Paradise residents to change their food habits, shut down the Meat World Meat Production Plant, and protect the cows living in the town's Cow Pasture if that means killing innocent people. However, their role as antagonists is that they don't attack the Postal Dude during the workdays, but during the weekend in the POSTAL 2: Apocalypse Weekend expansion pack.
The male members are voiced by Marcus Davis and the female members are voiced by Stacie Truemann.
Ideology[]
The Vegetarians, like the two previous groups of protestors, are generally well-meaning because they believe that the consumption of meat causes animal suffering to an unprecedented degree. Therefore, they want to stop meat production and save all animals from the slaughterhouse.
However, despite the fact that Vegetarians are a group of protesters and always carry weapons with them, they never show up at a protest in front of a Meat World Meat Production Plant and never attack the Postal Dude, which makes them a fairly quiet group of demonstrators in Paradise during working days (Butchers take their role as a hate group).
This does not change the fact that the Vegetarians are very aggressive, brutal, ruthless and unfortunately so convinced in their ideology as shown in the Apocalypse Weekend expansion pack where they want to kill a Dude for murdering cows suffering from mad cow disease, even though they are clearly sick, feral and with missing skin on their bodies, and they incite riots in Paradise after hearing a speech from an al-Qaeda member. Their violent behavior can also be a sign of mental illness, but such behavior seems to be the norm in the Postal universe.
Biography[]
The Postal Dude can meet a few members of the group on Thursday, but they won't attack the Dude - until he decides to attack them first. At home in the Chicken Queen Estates, a Dude may find Vegetarian transparent with names like "Meat Is Gay", "Veggies Kick Meat Ass" or "Cows Are People Too".
However, despite their peaceful attitude on Saturday, the Vegetarians attack the Postal Dude when he gets a job from the police chief to kill cows infected with mad cow disease in a cow pasture in Paradise. When they see what he is doing, they decide to kill him to save the cows, even those who are clearly sick. To survive the day, the Postal Dude has to kill the cows and the Vegetarians in the pasture. They are not extremely armed and are easy to defeat, but it doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't be careful about them in general. An additional problem is infected cows, which are extremely aggressive under the influence of the disease and can carry out deadly charges.
After the task is done, the Vegetarians reappear on Sunday, where the Vegetarians and other groups of people decide to start a riot in Paradise to get rid of those who are tormenting them, including the Postal Dude.
