Velikan

Commander "Velikan" is a playable character in the 2019 first-person shooters Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Mobile, and the 2023 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, a supporting antagonist in the 2022 shooters Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Biography[]

Background[]

When he became of age, he became a freelance assassin going under the moniker of "Velikan", being someone known as a shadow within a shadow. Primarily due to his assassination skills, Phillip Graves hired him to join Shadow Company sometime after its foundation in 2017. He began to work with operators Marcus "Lerch" Ortega and Rozlin "Roze" Helms.

War On Terror[]

In 2020, months after Khaled Al-Asad's reprisal as the new leader of Al-Qatala, began to take over Urzikstan by invading Al Mazrah and working his way towards its capital. While the Urzikstan Liberation Force took the fight alongside the Coalition. "Velikan" allied himself with the Allegiance. However, information re-covered during operations around March 3rd confirmed that Al-Asad was getting assistance and that all but one benefactor remained; Victor Zakhaev. Allegiance and Coalition formed into Armistice, under the oversight of Kate Laswell and began to attack both Zakhaev Arms and Al-Qatala. Soon after, Al-Asad went off the grid and Zakhaev detonated a chemical attack in Urzikstan, leaving everyone dead except for Simon "Ghost" Riley.

Atomgrad[]

After Zakhaev's presumed death by John Price, "Velikan" left Shadow Company and began working with Al-Qatala and it's new field commander, Hadir Karim. Sometime in early December of 2022, Alex Keller was kidnapped. However, the ULF and Task Force 141 discovered his location to be in an abandoned missile silo. Hadir went to defend Hadir, but was ultimately knocked out and injured by the operators. After he regained consciousness, he discovered Hadir's deceased body.

After Graves presumed death in November by Ghost and John "Soap" MacTavish, "Velikan" rejoined Shadow Company and became a field commander. Fortunately, it was revealed that Graves was in fact not inside of the tank and survived. "Velikan" was then granted the position of warden at Building 21.

Rise of Konni[]

In 2023, several Konni operatives, under the command of Andrei Nolan, raided Building 21 and was soon taken over. "Velikan" was then assigned to KorTac alongside an old associate of his, Roze, to take the fight to Konni and SpecGru after the assassination of Hassan Zyani.

Trivia[]

In Building 21, during Season Five, Velikan still appears a boss.
