Velo's Galactic Empire is a minor antagonistic faction in the Crash Bandicoot series. It's a galaxy-wide empire ruling over many planets, headed by Emperor Velo XXVII. Both the emperor and his "champions", hailing from the empire's domains, enjoy kart racing, and challenge residents of other worlds to races.

Past[]
The galactic empire was founded at an unknown point in time and ruled by at least twenty-seven individuals named "Velo" to date. Planets ruled by it include Terra, Barin, Fenomena, Teknee and implicitly Gasmoxia.
Crash Nitro Kart[]
After learning of the Earth's racers, Velo XXVII captured Crash, Coco, Crunch, Polar, Neo Cortex, N. Gin, Tiny Tiger and Dingodile to make them race for his subjects' amusement, threatening to destroy the Earth if they refused. During the resulting competition, racers from Earth confronted and defeated each of Velo's champions, before facing and defeating the emperor himself. Still, to convince him to space Earth from destruction, they had to collect all Time Relics on his tracks and beat him for the second time.
Team Bandicoot ending[]
After being beaten and losing his robot suit, Velo surrendered his power to Crash, allowing him to become emperor, but he gave it back, only asking to return him and his friends to Earth in return. Velo presumably stayed in power afterwards.
Team Cortex ending[]
After being beaten and losing his robot suit, Velo refused to surrender his power, making him and Cortex fight over his staff until it broke and transported Cortex, N. Gin and Tiny to Terra. Velo's fate following this is unknown.
List of territories[]
- Terra: a planet that is largely identical to Earth by virtue of its denizens having copied it (though they claim the inverse to be the case). It's inhabited by ape-like beings who worship Tiny Tiger. Its champion is Krunk.
- Barin: an ice-covered planet inhabited by shark-like beings. Its champion is Nash.
- Fenomena: a deserted planet where laws of physics don't seem to be applicable. Its champion is Norm.
- Teknee: a technologically advanced planet populated by robots. Its champion is Geary.
- Gasmoxia: a toxic planet whose inhabitants are obsessed with racing. Though not explicitly stated to be part of the empire, it's implied to be by virtue of its disgraced champion, Nitros Oxide, being part of Velo's court.
- Velo's Citadel: an asteroid shaped like Velo XXVII's head, that serves as both the emperor's throne room and a racing stadium.
Trivia[]
- Though N. Trance is shown to be working for Velo, the empire's relation to the former's home, Fifth Dimension, is unclear.
