Verbena Sutter is a minor antagonist in the 2022 video game Horizon Forbidden West. One of the members of the Old World think tank organisation Far Zenith, Verbena would later search for Beta, the Zenith's Elisabeth Sobeck clone, in the ruins of Ninmah Research Lab, before she would be ambushed by Regalla's Rebels and the Sons of Prometheus members, killing her after her shields were disabled by a mysterious device.
She was voiced by Salena Qureshi.
Background[]
Old World[]
Given from the "Verbena's Engaged Again!" datapoint in Horizon Forbidden West, Verbena was born in 2035 or 2036.
She was the heiress and the inheritor of her father's fortune he accumulated during his work in the holotourism industry. She later made a living as an influencer, going through her self-style as a "life designer". In 2060, at the age of 24, Verbena engaged to several men 17 times, making her the most eligible bachelorette.
Far Zenith[]
At some point in time after the Faro Plague was recognised as a serious threat on Earth, Verbena and a few other members of Far Zenith would later leave Earth through the Odyssey ship, boarding to Sirius System. However, it was her own wealth rather than her ingenuity that granted her a spot on the ship.
However, when Nemesis, the Zenith's AI, later became self-aware and hostile to the inhabitants of Sirius, she was one of the eleven colonists who escaped from the planet before reaching Earth.
Forbidden West[]
Nine centuries have passed after escaping Earth, Verbena would be later ordered by Gerard Bieri to retrieve Beta, who later escaped due to her tormentors, and later reached the ruins of the Ninmah Research Lab.
However, she would come into conflict with the members of Regalla's Rebels and the Sons of Prometheus, orchestrated by Sylens to test the shield-deactivating weapon, who would dispatch several of the rebels. However, the shield-deactivating weapon was fired by one of the Prometheus's members, disabling her shields, before one of the Rebels stabbed her, thus killing her, but not before she fired the last shot fro mm her energy cannon.
