Vereena is a minor antagonist in The Witcher franchise, serving as the main antagonist of the A Grain of Truth stories in The Last Wish. She is a vampire who is Nivellen's lover.
Biography[]
Past[]
About specific things about Vereena's past and the first meeting with Nivellen, it is nevertheless certain that Vereena aborted him after Nivellen was turned into a monster by the priestess of the temple of Coram Agh Tera. Despite her norms, Vereena rarely spoke to Nivellen in his palace, and she did not often speak to him in a language that was foreign to Nivellen. The language she spoke to him in, the fact of her appearance and the fact that she did not eat human flesh made Nivellen believe that she was a Naiad.
A Grain of Truth[]
While exploring the area around Nivellen's palace, Geralt came across the bodies of two people, Rulle Asper and his unnamed daughter. While examining the bodies of the above-mentioned people to find out the cause of their deaths, Geralt discovered that there were tooth marks on their necks, so Geralt considered them to be victims of the vampire and decided to hunt him down.
While following the vampire, Geralt noticed the palace where Vereena was watching him. And when Geralt noticed her, he started waving at her, but she ran away from him, so Geralt went to Nivellen's residence, where he met Nivellen himself, who invited him to dinner. While having dinner, the witcher, talking to Nivellen, asked him if anyone else lived in his residence. Nivellen lied to Geralt that he had no one and lived alone in the mansion, but he quickly realized that Geralt had seen Vereena. Geralt tried to get most of the information from Nivellen, but he didn't learn anything, so he left the estate.
When Geralt wanted to leave Nivellen's estate, his roach horse sensed that Vereena was not a mover but a vampire, making Geralt understand what breed Vereena was. The witcher turned around and quickly returned to Nivellen's estate. When he returned to the estate, he found Vereena singing and feeding on Nivellen's blood on the back of a dolphin statue. Geralt observed Vereena and began to question her whether she was an Alp or a Mula, but when she arrived in the sun, he decided that she was a bruxa. The witcher entered into a fight with Bruxa, but she was stronger than him, and Geralt realized that she needed the cursed Nivellen so that she could sew his blood. She tried to use Nivellen as her defender.
