Biography[]
Past[]
Vergil was born alongside his twin brother Dante to their parents, the human Eva and the demonic Dark Knight Sparda. Sparda went missing at some point early in his and Dante's lives, leaving the brothers in the care of their mother.
As Dante and Vergil grew up, they developed a sibling rivalry, constantly arguing over minor things and getting into physical fights to see who was the strongest. Eventually, Eva gifted each brother an amulet that contained half of a stone that Sparda used to seal off his homeworld, Makai, from Earth.
One day, the forces of Mundus arrived while Vergil was outside playing. Eva hid Dante away, and as she went to go find Vergil, she was cut down by a demon in front of Dante. While Dante managed to survive and live a free life, Vergil was captured and taken to Makai.
There, Vergil was indoctrinated into Mundus' cause, growing up to become the demon knight Nelo Angelo with a burning hatred for humanity.

But seeing as I'm about to use that power to undo the historic crime of its maker and free every Makaian from our bondage… how about I hold onto it for a while? I know who you are. There's only one way you could've gotten the amulet piece and this blood. |
