Transformation Ninja Vermillion Lizard is a World Ninja known for collecting valuable swords and the antagonist of episode 5 of Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya.
He was voiced by Takeshi Kuwabara.
Biography[]
Vermillion Lizard came to Japan seeking the Light Vacuum Sword wielded by Jiraiya. He first observed Jiraiya training with it before attacking him and Tetsuzan with one of his bombs, but the two dodged the blast.
Later, after the Sorcerers Clan stole the sword from Manabu, who had taken it without permission, Vermillion Lizard appeared to challenge them for it. He fought Retsukiba and Benikiba, taking the latter hostage in order to force Org Ninja Dokusai to give up the sword, to which Dokusai reluctantly conceded. Vermillion Lizard was later ambushed by Reiha of the International Secret Police, but fought her off and disarmed her. Before he could steal her sword as well, her ally Toppa appeared and distracted Vermillion Lizard long enough for both of them to escape.
After discovering his sword was stolen, Toha became Jiraiya and went out to get it back from Vermillion Lizard, accompanied by Tetsuzan and Manabu. After Manabu blinded Vermillion Lizard, Jiraiya took back the Light Vacuum Sword and used it to cut Vermillion Lizard's sword in half. Defeated, Vermillion Lizard conceded to Jiraiya and walked away.
Vermillion Lizard returned later when he traveled to France seeking to get his hands on an ancient Japanese sword which had recently been placed in a museum. Before he could steal the sword for himself however, the sword was stolen by Parchis. Vermillion Lizard chased Parchis to Japan, where he and a French ninja working for interpol named Catherine both attempted to get the sword from him. Parchis was later defeated by Jiraiya and Reiha after he attempted to sell the sword on the black market, allowing Vermillion Lizard to claim the sword for himself. Jiraiya attempted to persuade Vermillion Lizard to hand the sword over but the sword-collecting ninja refused, saying he felt it suited him the best. Jiraiya then dueled Vermillion Lizard for the sword and defeated him, causing Vermillion Lizard to reluctantly hand it over before leaving to continue his search to find a sword that suited him.
Vermillion Lizard's search would eventually lead him to the Dark Sword, a sword which originally belonged to the Space Ninja Demost. Vermillion Lizard found the sword hidden in a small rural village and, upon claiming it, was possessed by its power. He later encountered Jiraiya and attacked him, but was freed from the Dark Sword's influence when it was reclaimed by Demost.
