Having multiple people and creatures trapped and in containment, Cale finds an obssession in the appearance of a woman of extraordinary physical and magical powers, that appeared to protect the world from other supernatural threats and threatened to put the "order" Cale strives for in check. She is also one of the founding members of the Justice League.
Appearance[]
Veronica is a tall, blonde woman with strong facial features. Her eyes are icy blue, and matching them, her preferred clothing is a sky blue suit that she is commonly seen using, coupled with darker blue gloves.
Biography[]
Absolute Wonder Woman[]
Veronica Cale is stabilished as not only being Security Advisor but head of a place called Area 41, where multiple living examples of the supernatural live contained, including Giganta, Cuca, a strange paper creature, among others.
Cale is first seen at the Oval Room with the president, reacting to Wonder Woman's broadcast as part of her plan to save Gateway City from The Tetracide. As the President asks for answers from Veronica as for what to do, she claims they still have a problem even after the Tetracide is incapacitated by Wonder Woman.
Cale goes to Area 41, ready to provide Doctor Poison with an incomplete recording of the Tetracide's song, curious about what she can do with it. Poison ends up being able to complete it and use electronic Spiders to attack humans with the sound, though it is unknown if Cale wanted her to do that.
Regardless, Poison's actions successfully lure Wonder Woman into a maze owned by Area 41, though Diana, after defeating the woman in control of the place, frees all creatures living in there. This angers Cale, who puts the blame on Dr. Poison, who is nevertheless nonchalant and orders Cale, as she always does, to buy her a new containment suit.
Veronica then orders Poison's immediate exchange to Project SS-1, before entering the deeper levels of Area 41, where she passes by multiple inmates, to come across Zatanna, a bounded woman who Cale plans to have fight Wonder Woman.
Absolute Evil[]
In 1951, Hawkman was blackmailed into stopping "un-American" activities in exchange for his identity not being revealed to the public. The page then timeskips to the present day, where Oliver Queen is practising archery. He is conducting a phone call and explains to the caller that his target is Jubal Slade. Oliver also explains to the caller that an unknown person has been conducting a lot of private flights and has bought the courts. The person who is calling is revealed to be Hector Hammond, and he proceeds to a meeting room. Veronica Cale greets him. Ra's Al Ghul orders Hector to quiet down before they commence the meeting.
The Joker looks at him from across the table and agrees with Ra's, saying that he does not enjoy jokes. Sitting in the room also is Dr. Elenore Thawne, head of Project Olympus. Cale explains that in 1939, there was a man named Wesley Dodds who operated as the vigilante known as the Sandman, but was shot and killed. He developed an advanced sleeping gas from which the government later stole. She then goes on to tell the story of Wildcat, a masked crime fighter who was framed for murder. Wildcat was later bribed after a stakeout in a factory and died peacefully in his sleep after retiring from crime and living a normal life. Without the work of Wildcat, 16 people perished within the factory. Cale tells the story of Iron Munro, an exceptionally talented stuntman who attended socialist meetings and lived a life of solitude, perishing when a chemical test was "accidentally" dropped on his home. The reason she explains the stories of these failed vigilantes is that they are several out of hundreds of examples of people who have acted outside of the status quo, and the targets they are dealing with today will be no different.
Cale explains that in Gateway City, a force of destruction appeared known as the Gateway Event, which summoned a massive monster known as the Tetracide. A mysterious armoured woman on her steed flew towards the beast and slayed it with a simple punch. Cale found it extremely concerning that the troops on the ground allowed her to take command and to guide them towards killing the Tetracide. She then goes on to show that at the same time, a man with a cape made out of ash was violently disrupting Lazarus Corp operations within international territory. While she describes the others as non-human beings, she can confirm that the final subject they are targeting is human. The final subject that they are targeting has an axe on his chest in the shape of a bat and "appears and vanishes like a ghost." Joker talks to himself, saying that the bat-axed target did not take the money. She then shows more examples - a detective with a strange Euclidean force around him, a woman with strange green energy around her and a lightning-fast teenager with a telepathic ape companion. Cade and the people within the room know that things are escalating and that previously they could deal with these threats individually, but that is no longer possible, so they have decided to group together.
Hector gets angry and gets into an argument with Ra's, where he shouts at him that he does not need his help. Cade believes it would be a good time to show the solution to their problems and brings in Hawkman, who has a radical appearance than before. Hawkman is brainwashed and wears a variety of bandages on his head in addition to a vicious and aggressive helmet. Hawkman arrives and places Oliver's bloodied body on the table. He asks the group within the room if they have any questions. Ra's is pleased, telling Hector that this is the way that they solve problems - not within a month but rather a day. Ms Thawne looks confused and asks how exactly Hawkman killed Queen and whether it was a covert assassination, or if they are blackmailing her and her crew. Cade gives each of them a proposition - that they could make one phone call to Hawkman and get rid of their problems. Joker asks if he could have the floor and stands up.
Joker explains that his scientists have come up with a breakthrough when it comes to particle physics laboratory and tells the people within the room not to speak of this to anyone. He explains that the Higgs-Boson particle, which is considered the final piece of quantum physics, could be the answer as to how the universe works. His scientists have found a better particle called the "Omega Particle". He then showcases a video of a quantum accelerator and states that the omega particle has a "spiritual" and "moral" dimension to it:
Existence within his universe is ordered and ordained; some have the winning cards, and others have a handful of jokers. The people who get angry at the universe rally against it, and there is a proper term to describe it - the just word fallacy. There is no belief that a world can be just, but they have evidence of a natural order worked upon the world by a higher power. As they drag Oliver's lifeless body, Joker raises a toast towards an ordered world and a "Justice League".
