The Veteran is one of the heroic roles from the mystery RPG game, Town of Salem. While they are originally a hero and a Town member, in the Town Traitor game mode, Veteran can be a traitor working for the Mafia or the Coven.

| “ | The Veteran laughed in the darkness. Afraid of the dark, no way. Afraid of monsters under the bed? The man with his hand on trigger of a gun laughed nervously. He wasn't scared of anything, he had told himself. Sure, he was a past war time hero, but he was so used to ambushes and life threatening situations that it made the man simply neurotic. His trigger finger twitched at simple shadows; his heartbeat quickened with every little sound. Yes, he was this scared of death. How could he not, seeing so many people die in horrible ways? All he knew from being kidnapped and miraculously escaping his enemies was that there was no mercy. His thoughts suddenly stopped at the sound of a door creaking open. Sweat began to show on his face as the steps started to become louder as it headed his way. Heart pounding like crazy, he lifted the gun up to the door. Suddenly the door opened and he pulled the trigger. The stranger had dropped and so had his sense of worry. It was done, it was over. | „ |

Town of Salem[]
The Veteran is a unique role. They may choose to go on alert during night phase, by clicking themself. While on alert, the Veteran deals powerful attack to their visitors. And deals basic defense to themselves. They can go on alert three times in a game. They can not be role blocked and controlled.
The Veteran has no defense without an alert. However, they have the basic defense while going on the alert, they can not be killed by the roles that deal basic attack.
Winning Conditions[]
Normally, a Veteran must lynch nearly all of the evils that act in the game, such as the Mafia, the Coven and the evil Neutrals.
However, in the Town Traitor mode, since the Veteran is a member of the Mafia or the Coven, they must eliminate their faction's rivals.
Investigation Results[]
- Sheriff: "You cannot find evidence of wrongdoing. Your target seems innocent."
- Investigator: "Your target could be a Vigilante, Veteran, Mafioso, Pirate or Ambusher."
- Consigliere: "Your target is a paranoid war hero. They must be a Veteran."
Achievements[]
There are some achievements that can be earned by perform tasks. They are the achievements that dedicated to the Veteran;
- Battle-Hardened: Win 1 game.
- Soldier: Win 5 games.
- Warrior: Win 10 games.
- Sergeant: Win 25 games.
- Not Paranoid: Win without going on alert.
- Lucky Paranoia: Win a game without killing any Townie.
- Massacre: Kill three people in one night.
