NOTE: THIS PAGE ONLY TALKS ABOUT THE EVIL SIDE OF VEYLE.
|
Veyle, also known as the Fell Princess and the Gentle Dragon, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Zephia) of Nintendo's 2023 tactical role-playing video game Fire Emblem: Engage.
She is the daughter of the Fell Dragon Sombron, and wishes to stop his plan, which consists in using the Emblem Rings in order to access the multiverse and travel across it so he could find Zero Emblem and take his revenge upon those who banished him.
Due to Sombron wishing for his children to be just as vile as him, he and his right-hand Zephia created Veyle's evil personality, who helps them in their quest for the emblems and leads her father's forces. She's the younger sister and second arch-enemy of Alear.
She was voiced by Reina Ueda in Japanese and Megan Taylor Harvey in English.
Biography[]
Veyle is the youngest daughter of the Fell Draggon Sombron, who waged war on the world of Elyos 1000 years before the start of Fire Emblem Engage. Most of Veyle's siblings died during the war, fighting for their father. Veyle befriended one of her siblings, Alear, who gave her their dragonstone as a symbol of their friendship and Alear's survival (the stone would remain intact as long as Alear lives).
After Sombron lost the war, Veyle was forced into hiding due to being his daughter and the her mother was killed for mating the Fell Dragon, but not before asking her daughter to stop Sombron should he return to his warmongering. 100 years prior to the story's start, Veyle was placed under the care of her father's worshippers and sent asleep.
She woke up right before the start of the main story and reunited with Sombron, who despised her kind nature and inability to summon emblems. He had his number two Zephia enhanced his child's draconic impulse, giving birth to the poor girl's evil persona who stole four rings from Alear's adopted mother Queen Lumera and mortally wounded her. Afterwards, Evil Veyle spends the first half of the game creating zombies known as the "corrupted", while the Good Veyle fights them and helps Alear.
Appearance[]
Veyle looks like a young teenager with purple eyes, long lavender hair and pale skin. She wears a white feather-themed dress with pink and blue highlights, a pair of white gloves, a white headgear and golden chains.
When her evil persona becomes active, her eyes turn red. At the beginning of the game, Veyle's evil half wears a black and fuchsia robe with a hood, while at the end of the game she wears a black helmet with a pair of fuschia and a black horns, a black dress with pink spikes shaped like dragon wings and a pair of black gloves with pink accents.
Trivia[]
- Veyle has a leitmotif called "Silver-White Heart", which is remixed into the map theme "Falling Petals" used during the fight against Evil Veyle in Chapter 17 of Fire Emblem Engage.
- Veyle's battle theme, "Defected", is shared with Alear.
- Veyle's good persona loves spicy food, while her bad one loves sweets.
