Victor Strand is a main character and major antagonist in AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. He served as a main character from Season 1 to Season 6 before becoming the main antagonist of Season 7.
He is portrayed by Colman Domingo.
Biography
Pre-Apocalypse
As a child in New Orleans, Louisiana, Victor Strand was abandoned by his mother. After graduating college, Strand became a businessman and made a fortune through real estate. However, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Victor's business had suffered a major setback. As a result, Strand resorted to stealing from random strangers. One of his victims was a businessman by the name of Thomas Abigail. However, Thomas was impressed by Strand's scheme and decided to form a partnership which eventually formed into a romance.
Eventually, Victor and Thomas moved to Baja California and started overseeing various housing projects in the community of Valle de Guadalupe where Strand became also met Luis Flores and his mother, Celia. Luis was sent to Los Angeles, California to close a deal, but Strand decided to head there as well to fasten the deal. However, riots were breaking out in the city and a few others due to a strange new virus and police brutality, but Victor assured Luis that it would be quick.
Post-Apocalypse
California and Mexico
Eventually, Strand ended up detained in a military outpost set up at a community college where he meets Nicholas Clark. Eventually, a herd overruns the facility and Strand and Nick escape with some help from Nick's family and friends. After after their escape from the outpost, Strand leads the group to his mansion near the West Coast where his yacht is located. After putting down Elizabeth Ortiz, Strand takes Madison's group aboard the Abigail and supposidley pilots it to San Diego. However, Daniel discovers Strand's plan to travel to Mexico. Upon arriving in Valle de Guadalupe, Strand discovers that Thomas was bitten by a walker and was eventually forced to put him down, inadvertently getting Chris discovered when he tries to kill Alicia. When Celia discovers what happened to Thomas, he has Strand exiled from the community.
After Daniel sets the vineyard on fire, Strand escapes in a truck along with Madison, Alicia, and Ofelia. They try to make it back to the Abigail only to find it stollen by the Mexican Navy. After travelling for some time, the four eventually ended up at the Rosarito Beach Hotel and eventually start to turn it into a community. At one point during their stay, Strand is wounded by one of the patrons after killing her undead daughter.
After some of the hotel patrons attempt to kill Travis, Strand points his gun at them, forcing them all out of the room before allowing Travis, Madison, and Alicia to escape. Eventually, Strand was forced to leave the hotel and is given the keys to a fancy car by the same patron that stabbed him before she commits suicide.
He eventually makes his way to Gonzalez Dam where he meets Dante Esquivel, the municipal president of Tijuana and leader of the community running the dam. After getting locked up under Dante's orders, he meets Daniel again, who was working as a part of Dante's security. Later on, Daniel and a few others rebel against Dante and his guards.
Later, Strand and Daniel head back to the Rosarito Beach Hotel after Strand claims that Ofelia is there. When they reach the hotel, they find it overrun with Infected before Daniel abandons Strand after telling the truth. After wandering on his own, Strand finds the Abigail on a beach before killing all the infected in it and coming into contact with a Russian astronaut. Eventually, he burns down the Abigail and continues to wander around Tijuana.
Eventually, he ends up in El Bazar where he meets Madison again, who was looking to buy water for Qualetaqa Walker and the Broke Jaw Ranch community. He also makes a deal with the leader of El Bazar, Proctor John, to protect Madison, Nick, and Alicia, but it meant giving the Proctors control of Gonzalez Dam.
Before John's attack, Strand holds Lola and Daniel at gunpoint. After a struggle with Strand's gun, Strand accidentally shoots Daniel in the cheek. He attempts to escape with Madison and Alicia but were swept away after the dam's destruction.
Texas
After being separated from the group for years, Strand reconnects with Madison, Nick, and Alicia in Texas.
