Dr. Viktor Frankenstein, also known simply known as The Doctor, is the titular main antagonist of the 2013 horror movie Frankenstein's Army. He is a scientist who formerly worked for Nazi Germany, only to betray them by usurping the Nazis controlling a village, by having his zombots massacre them, and use the remaining people left to experiment on.
He was portrayed by Karel Roden, who also potrayed Emil Slovak in 15 Minutes, Carter Kounen in Blade II, Struker in Bulletproof Monk, Yuri Gretkov in The Bourne Supremacy, Mikhail Faustin and The Fixer in Grand Theft Auto IV.
Biography[]
After his father said to him that men would be more efficient if they had hammers and screwdrivers instead of hands, he took this literally and attempted to conduct this experiment on cats. After his father found out, he told him it was a sin against god, and beat him. His father then tried to have him locked up in a mental asylum and to prevent this, Viktor injected him with a paralysing drug that stopped him from moving, but it still allowed his eyes to move, so he could watch as Viktor murdered him.
Then, after killing his father. The nazis closed down his father’s toy factory and sent him to a prison camp. But then, after someone told The Sturmbannführer about his cat experiment, he asked Viktor if he could do the same with humans. Viktor then got to work using notes from his grandfather, the legendary Victor Frankenstein, as a reference. However, while his grandfather had to rely on thunder to bring his creations to life, Viktor was able to use generators.
However, once Viktor had created enough zombots, he was able to usurp the nazis and slaughter the entire village, conducting experiments on many of them. This included a convent of nuns, so he could turn their church into a facility to conduct his experiments.
After Sergei, Vassili and Sacha kick Demitri from the group for betraying them. He is sent deeper into Viktor’s facility, he encounters many experiments the doctor has conducted, including Viktor's own Mother's still-breathing severed head sewn to a teddy bear. After entering a room full of bodies hanging from hooks, he sees Viktor Frankenstein raising a body up onto a hook. Followed by his maniacal screaming while getting one of his zombots to push a cart with several bodies in it, into the main area where he conducts his experiments.
Then, after Demitiri is knocked out by a now Zombot Ivan, we see that he has now kidnapped Demitri, and sat him at a table. He then urges him to eat some stew that contains human remains, telling him that it will make him strong. When Demitri refuses, saying that he isn’t hungry, Viktor has a zombot hold his mouth open, while Viktor scoops the soup into his mouth. He then tells Demitri that he needs him to be strong, so Demitri can make a record of his experiments for posterity.
Viktor then gives Demitri a tour of his lab, while giving him the backstory of how he ended up working there, Demitri sees that Viktor has captured Sergei and Vassili, and zombotified Hans. When Demitri calls the zombots automatons, he gets incredibly angry with Demitri, telling him that they aren’t machines or puppets, that all of them are still alive, and that they still need to eat, so he feeds them with the same stew he gave Demitri. He then shows Demitri the generator he uses to bring the zombots to life, demonstrating how it works in front of him.
He's then alerted by Demitri that the Soviets will be arriving soon, with Demitri guessing they're about 15 kilometres away, and could be at his facility in a few hours. Demitri then offers Viktor a job working for the Soviets, so they can use his Zombots to defeat the western allies, and make the entire world communist, with it being stated if he refuses they'll bomb him and his Zombots. Viktor then states that when it comes to experiments, the fresher the better, and if he's able to use specimens that are still alive, he can make miracles happen.
He then makes Demitri choose who's a better communist out of Sergei and Vassili, with him choosing Sergei, resulting in Viktor killing Vassil. We then see Viktor lobotomising The Sturmbannführer, VIktor then cuts his brain in half. We then see him doing the same to Sergei while he screams in pain. We then see him holding a small hook, having just placed half of The Sturmbannführer and half of Sergei's brain in the same head, with it being revealed he's doing this because he believes a zombot with half of a nazi's brain, and half of a communist's brain, will end the war. He then attempts to bring the zombot to life with his generator, however, once this fails he states that the zombot is just having some readjustment issues, and needs more power.
It's then show Viktor has tied up Demitri, asking him how to operate his camera. Demitri then begins to plead with Viktor, with Viktor simply replying that he has to refuse Demitri's offer to work for the Soviets. Demitri tells Viktor that even if the Soviets don't kill him, the Germans will, with Viktor making it clear he knows, and simply doesn't care, reminding Demitri he was in a prison camp. Viktor then makes it clear he plans to experiment on Demitri, by burring Demitri's camera into his skull, stating he might have enough time before the Soviets arrive. Viktor then says that the footage in Demitri's camera will convince doctors that Viktor is right, with Demitri responding by calling him sick, to which Viktor says that everyone is sick, and that the sickness cannot be cured, so it must be cut-out, and that his creations will do that. He then explains to Demitri how he slowly killed his father, with it being clear he plans to do the same to Demitri, before he's interrupted by the Soviets carpet bombing his facility. Viktor then states he won't have time to experiment on Demitri after all, and attempts to leave his facility, with him also stating that after he dies, his zombots will begin killing each other and everyone else nearby. He then attempts to take Demitri's camera with him, only for him to get shot dead by Sacha.
