Revision as of 22:05, March 1, 2020

Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be at the very least 350 words long.
  • An article is featured every month, or at the admins' discretion.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • All nominations and votes must be signed with four tildes (~~~~). Unsigned nominations and votes will be nullified.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • Users cannot nominate articles two months in a row.
  • Only six nominations max for every monthly voting are allowed. Any nomination surpassing this limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • CHEATING WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED. Any user who starts downvoting candidates just to rig the results or go asking other users to vote on his candidate will receive a warning and, in case of reincidence, a one month ban. No exceptions.
  • The use of sockpuppets in VFH is extremely forbidden, resulting in the permanent ban of the sockpuppet's account(s) and in the deletion of your nominated villain.
  • Once the vote was posted, there is no turning back to edit the description of your vote. If you voted against a candidate for a trivial reason and had your vote discarded by an admin, it will be forbidden to go back and edit the reason of your vote to make your denied vote valid again. Doing so will result in a week ban, NO exceptions.
  • There is a limit for how many times a villain can be nominated in a period of time. If a candidate is downvoted but still being brought to VFH more than once in the following months, the limit is 3 attempts. If a villain is downvoted 3 times, the villain can not be proposed again until 12 months has passed after the last proposal. Bringing the villain back before then is a violation of this rule and the candidate will be erased from the nominations. For this limit to reset, the villain must not be proposed for 12 months after the last proposal.

Suggestions

  • Be original and creative with the nominations.
  • Don't vote against a villain if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a villain just because you know nothing about him/her/it.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "He's boring" or "I don't like him" aren't arguments.

The correct nomination format is as follows:

The Giant Claw

  • What better for April Fools than a utter ridiculous monster? Giant Claw is both infamous, iconic and a fountain of memes.
  • I get that the monster is iconic for being so ridiculous and cheap looking and it fits the whole theme of April Fools, but I just can't see this thing being among some other villains that are either iconic or underrated but well written for many good things. Besides, the fact the studio even allowed this to be made tells me this was not a joke to them.

Char Aznable

  • Gundam is the source of many memes, including many spawned from its most iconic ace pilot, the Red Comet Char Aznable. Thus, I believe Char to be worthy of the April VFH spot, for the following reasons:
  1. He's an absolute meme fountain, with many iconic lines. My personal favorites are "It Goes Three Times Faster", "Because he was a spoiled brat" and "Captain Quattro, he is a CHAR". Seriously, nearly every word that comes out of this guy's mouth is memetic.
  2. He's as iconic Japan as Darth Vader is in America. Naturally this has led to him spawning a number of imitators, both in Gundam and in other anime, to the point where TVTropes even has their own trope page for copies of him, called the "Char Clone".
  3. He's also a certified Magnificent Bastard™ according to TVTropes.
  4. He's the hidden but true main antagonist of the entire Gundam franchise, though it takes three series and movie for him to fully embrace the role.
  5. Got his own movie, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, where he started an entire war and tried to drop an asteroid on Earth just as an excuse to have a final showdown with his rival.
  6. Nearly every female character in Gundam is out for his "red comet", but he only likes young girls.
  7. By his final appearance he's been the rival of the hero, the mentor of the hero and the second Space Hitler, all at different points.
  8. His name is a shout out to a French musician no one remembers.
  9. Char Aznable is extremely important to the entire timeline of the Universal Century, not to mention spawning a large amount of paradise.

Plankton

  • "So, in my opinion, I believe a villain from SpongeBob should be headlined for April hence the April Fools theme being the day based on people joking and SpongeBob itself is a comedy. Not only that, being one of the first article in the villains wiki and being one of the iconic villain from an iconic show, I think he deserves to be headlined.
  • I wholeheartedly support Plankton to be next month's headlined villain.
  • I loved watching Spongebob Squarepants and Plankton would be a great representer for headline.

Sephiroth

For: 6
Against: 3
Comments
  • Sephiroth is a popular and iconic villain from a legendary video-game franchise, and with the remake for the beloved game he made his debut in getting a remake this month, why not have him as April's VFH?
  • Let's be honest, this guy is very, very overrated. For what is supposedly the main villain in the game he does very little, with the "secondary" villains (Shinra) being much more of a actual, constant threat during the game. Not only he is a byproduct of Shinra, he spends most of the game inside of a crater. Maybe the remake will change things up a bit, but until then I throughly disagree with headlining him.
  • Have to agree with Magma here. Sephiroth is a cheap proposal. Only things he has going for him is iconic value, with little substance beyond that. I can think of several others FF villains that would be better picks.
  • Sephiroth might has a badass look, last word and personality, but he didn't do much thing in the game. Personally I think Kelfka is a better candidate, who is one of my favourite type of villains:badass pe.

  • For Passover, I want to nominate what in my opinion is the best cinematic version of Rameses.
