Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be at the very least 350 words long.
  • An article is featured every month, or at the admins' discretion.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • All nominations and votes must be signed with four tildes (~~~~). Unsigned nominations and votes will be nullified.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • Users cannot nominate articles two months in a row.
  • Only six nominations max for every monthly voting are allowed. Any nomination surpassing this limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • CHEATING WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED. Any user who starts downvoting candidates just to rig the results or go asking other users to vote on his candidate will receive a warning and, in case of reincidence, a one month ban. No exceptions.

Suggestions

  • Be original and creative with the nominations.
  • Don't vote against a villain if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a villain just because you know nothing about him/her/it.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "He's boring" or "I don't like him" aren't arguments.

The correct nomination format is as follows:

Shao Kahn

  • Seeing how Mortal Kombat 11 just released, and how iconic and intimidating Shao Kahn is, why not have the original Mortal Kombat antagonist become a VFH? As stated, he is certainly worth the honor, as most fighting game fans recognize and fear the rightful ruler of Outworld. Could this be his chance to (sort of) rule Earthrealm too? Let's hope so!
  • Though I already voted for Darth Bane, I think Shao Kahn is an awesome choice. He was a cool, long running antagonist in the Mortal Kombat series, and would be could to see headlined.
  • I'm not a big Mortal Kombat fan due to its violence, but I will admit Shao Khan is such an epic villain.

  • Mojo Jojo for Headline.
  • Jesus, this gained votes quickly! Although I personally don't really care for Mojo Jojo from what I know (and I really don't care too much for cartoons in general), I have no real counter to Mojo. Although I woud prefer if my proposal, Shao Kahn, gains more votes that this, I wouldn't mind him too much.

Darth Bane

For: 3

  • There is a new movie “Star Wars 9” and late this year Disney is starting The Clone Wars again, which had an episode with Bane in it. Why not give a great character that affected the Star Wars universe in monumental amounts a day in the sun. (Creating the “Rule of two”.)
  • Eh, why not. He would be fun to see headlined, due to the fact that he’s pretty original.
  • Not now. Clone Wars will be launched in November and Episode 9 in December. This is way too soon to have a Star Wars villain. Not to mention, it's better to have Palpatine who will return in the next film.
  • Why him, out of all Star Wars characters? Shouldn't we headline a more iconic villain first, like Emperor PalpatineBoba Fett, or Darth Maul?
  • Emperor Palpatine is a weakling, Darth Maul is a weakling and just a force sensitive hit man, and Bane is the reason they exist!
  • I can understand why you'd go for the lesser known Star Wars villains (Darth Maul and Boba would have gotten my downvotes immediately if they were picked instead), but why go for the villain who's got nothing but just "oh he established the Rule of Two." Because outside of that, Bane's a pretty boring villain. And it doesn't help that his origin is non-existent in the canon verse since the EU is no longer canon.
  • But here's the issue with that, Darth. Go up to any person who isn't a Star Wars fan and ask them about Darth Bane, and they'll likely say "Who is that?". However, most people know about Palpatine, Boba Fett, and Maul. More well-known villains are better options compared to lesser known baddies, IMO.
  • Bane is not boring! He uses strength, cunning and awe-inspiring force abilities, such as the Force Storm he used to decimate Ruusan. The Force Lightning that destroyed a temple the size of the rebel base on Yavin. Not to mention the fact that he’s the Sith’ari, a prophesied perfect Sith to lead the others to greatness. He is described as “The Nexus of the Dark Side”.
  • That's nothing special to me, honestly. But hey, you do you.
  • I agree, I would rather Darth Maul as the headlined villain
  • What about any other Zabrak? Maul is weak compared to others, being defeated by a younger Kenobi.

Chucky

  • Chucky is A HORROR Icon. There's no logic of headlining Chucky in May, when there's something named Halloween on October. Instead Horror icons should be nominated for Halloween, not for other months.
  • ...And Chucky is getting REBOOTED in June? Doesn't sound so "illogical" when you take that into account, now, does it? Plus, there is no rule that says that all horror villains being nominated for VFH must be restricted to Halloween. Yes, it's "more fitting", but Chucky getting proposed is suitably timed.
  • Actually that's the one that I was choosing for the campaign not to mention I have to agree with him.
  • I wouldn't mind if Chucky got headlined someday. He might have a slightly better shot in October due to the added bonus of it being around Halloween time, but either way, he would be fun to see.  After all, he is a extremely iconic horror antagonist.

Garou (One Punch Man)

For: 2
Against:
  • (if anyone votes against:) against reasons for against
Comments
  • One Punch Man is one of the most famous animes of the decade and millions were waiting for season 2 for 4 years now, nothing more fair in having the central antagonist of the season to be highlighted.
  • I have no objections with One Punch Man, except that he’s not. Attack On Titan, and Black Butler for example, are less standard anime, and more iconic.
  • This is exactly the sort of thing we need for headline, unique villains that don't follow common archetypes or cliches.
