Thragg's Children or The Viltrum Empire II are major antagonists in the Image Comics comic series Invincible.
Established by Thragg, to strike back at his old Viltrum army, he created an large unknown family of half thraxian, half viltrumites to combat against his adversaries. Only two of them became Thragg's elites.
History[]
After, Thragg was exiled into deep space, the new Emperor, didn't want to kill him. Merely to dismiss him, wanting him alive to see the Empire flourish, similar to the golden age of Argall.
Thragg wandered into space for unknown periods of months, and eventually found Thraxa. Remembering his agents were sent to that planet years ago, and discovered Nolan was able to impregnate a Thraxan woman, he made this chance to have his way with all of the female members. Because of Thragg's longevity and leadership experience, the Thraxans quickly enrolled him as their monarch, like Nolan before him, however Thragg was not a benevolent emperor like Nolan, and did not treat the Thraxans with respect, but like slaves. Regardless they all served him with no questions.
Thragg managed to forcefully impregnate thousands of Thraxan women, forcing them to have his children.
Thraxian females were given birth to a lot of hybrids in a rapid rate. After Thragg killed Thokk, he moved the people of Thraxa to another rich and organic world to begin further training his army.
In 5 years time, the hybrids managed to evolve in a teenage physical state, among the children, Ursaal and Onnan became the first twins since the Scourge Virus, which made them special to Thragg, and enlisted them in their elite squadron.
Quickly the Children became a part of Thragg's new Viltrum Empire, where they began to take over planets like in Thragg's Grand Regent days, however many of them were not fully ready for combat or death, as the lot of them would combust, or be nearly fatally wounded. One of the children apologized to their eldest sibling Ursaal that he didn't die, that way Thragg would finally notice him, but Ursaal claims Thragg loves all his children.
However this would be further from lies, as Thragg sent his twin children to find the graysons, Onnan was killed during a failed negotiation to save Terra, whom Thragg didn't display any concern. Leading to Ursaal after the fight hiding in his twin brother's old cave that he'd kill the lifeforms he kept for sport. Ursaal came to realization that Thragg doesn't care about any of his children, seeing them as cannon fodder, weapons, but Thragg mentions to Ursaal that he and Onnan were very special him, as they were born on the same day and time, as twins. A record that legendary was only recorded before the dawn of the Scourge Virus.
Thragg continued to rule more words, and when he returned from Dornin, a child of Thragg's presented his father with a trophy, that Thragg discarded it along with him, angered, Ursaal slams her fist on the viltrum empire symbol on a wall. Then the Coaltion along with Invincible and Atom Eve bravely fought hordes of Thragg's kids. In a more horrifying manner, Thragg's kids began to kill themselves by accident, not aware of the power and strength and resilience Invincible had, due to physiology being superior, and possibly not combating against any other beings than themselves. It was nothing Mark or Eve have ever seen. Ursaal questions if Thragg had any shame, which made Thragg angry, grabbing his daughter by throat, boasting on survival of the fittest to her.
Thragg proving to Invincible that he is the worst father in Viltrumite history.
In the final confrontation against Nolan's Viltrumites, Ursaal witness Thragg use her brothers and sisters as weapon projectiles to kill Invincible. While Invincible and Thragg fought in the sun, Ursaal managed to stop her children from fighting the viltrumites led by Nolan. The survivors surrendered and were given a second chance by Allen and Invincible, who all served Invincible's rule with no questions, seeing that Thragg's rule was all about destruction and saw unity from Invincible's perspective.
The Children continued to serve the Graysons for hundreds of years, and defeated the Coalition when they objected against the Viltrum Empire.
