~ Orlov to Elias Voit, in his unsuccessful attempt to avoid Voit's demands |
Vincent Orlov is a supporting antagonist in the second season of Criminal Minds: Evolution. Orlov is the lawyer of incarcerated serial killer and organized crime boss Elias Voit, eventually ending up roped into Voit's operations as Proxy while Voit awaits the outcome of his trial.
He's portrayed by Brian J. White.
Biography[]
Orlov graduated from law school at the American Independent University of Guam, finding defense work in Albuquerque. His ex-wife Cindy divorced him for his misogyny and likely abuse, as he believed all women were meant to be housewives. Voit seduced him into being his lawyer by recruiting him through Voit's online network of killers, providing Orlov footage of tortures and murders as part of their deal. Orlov negotiated the reduction of Voit's sentence significantly after he assassinated Deputy Director Doug Bailey. The deals were eventually put in place, and Voit got both a reduced sentence and security in his placement in the correctional system.
However, Voit wasn't done with Orlov and wanted him to do Voit a favor and dig up a briefcase he hid, so it could be passed onto a group Voit contacted, the Gold Star Killers. Orlov initially refused, but Voit threatened his accomplices would kill Cindy if Orlov backed out. Despite his fury, Orlov retrieved the suitcase and saw it had a GPS tracker the killers were meant to receive. The FBI interrogated him on information about what he knew and threatened his career, but he wouldn't budge. They did aptly figure out just how he and Voit found each other.
Damien Booth and Jade Waters met Orlov at a rendezvous, where Booth shot at Orlov's feet as a warning for if he tried anything funny. Orlov directed them to the tracker and made it out in one piece. When Agent Emily Prentiss was held captive by the killers, Orlov appeared one last time to offer information in exchange for his immunity, but the deal was refused.
Trivia[]
- Orlov is primarily inspired by the fictional character Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
