~ Vinnie Pappalardo to one of his underlings |
Vinnie Pappalardo is a major anti-villain in LEGO City Undercover. He is a notorious crime lord in LEGO City who secretly works for Rex Fury. He is also the boss of Chan Chuang and his gang.
He was voiced by John Guerrasio.
Appearance[]
Vinnie Pappalardo has black hair which is starting to gray. He is most frequently seen wearing a black striped suit.
Personality[]
Despite being a notorious gangster and crime lord, he is very affable and friendly unlike Chan Chuang who puts on a facade of being friendly. He is also shown caring about his son as he dresses up as a clown for his birthday. He can sometimes get a bit enraged like when he asks one of his minions to unload the truck and after Rex Fury asks him to complete another job but even after all these examples, he is not nearly as wrathful as Chan Chuang, Chief Dunby and Chief Burns.
History[]
Vinnie is first mentioned after Chase confronts Natalia after she breaks into Chan's office to find evidence to her father's whereabouts. Natalia explains that she only saw empty Pappalardo money bags in there. After this, Chase realises that Chan must be working for Vinnie as such must be working for Rex.
Chase McCain then tries to prevent Moe de Luca, Vinnie's cousin, from being imprisoned. He does this by taking a police van and posing as the prison truck driver. After a quick police chase, Chase drops Moe in Uptown.
Chase then goes to Pappalardo's to ask for a place in his gang. While Vinnie is first portrayed as wrathful and mean this quickly changes as he tells Chase that he is grateful for helping get De Luca out of prison. Vinnie tells Chase about some color guns he's been eyeing and tells him to meet Moe De Luca at the airport to steal some.
After Chase successfully steals the color guns he asks him to steal the Bell Pepper Emerald from the Lego City Bank in Downtown saying he has a 'private buyer' who wants it (Said private buyer was later revealed to be Rex Fury.
Just after Chase finishes work at the farm, Vinnie requests he steals the T-Rex from the museum in Uptown. This makes Chase suspect that Vinnie's private buyer must be Rex Fury. Chase goes on to steal the T-Rex and drop it off at the airport. Vinnie then phones Chase asking if he could go undercover at the fire station and steal a fire boat. Chase gladly accepts this assignment and infiltrates the fire department and steals the boat.
Just after Chase rescues Natalia for the second time, he remembers that Vinnie would be meeting with his 'private buyer'. Chase quickly hops over to Paradise Sands to spy on their conversation. Vinnie is furious at his buyer because he keeps requesting more and more stuff. Vinnie then goes on to complete a heist of his own - the biggest cheese in Lego City: Forrest Blackwell's mansion.
Moe De Luca drives the fireboat through a secret tunnel beneath Blackwell's mansion whilst also explaining Forrest Blackwell's failed plans. Chase successfully infiltrates the vault but is met by a sentinel guard before he can steal anything. Chase escapes using a Vor motorcycle. Moe calls Chase explaining that he is surrounded by sentinals (this is the last time Moe is seen), he also explains that Vinnie is not responding to his calls ,not even just to yell at him which Moe explains is unusual. Chase makes his way over to Fresco to see Vinnie.
After breaking in through the roof, Vinnie's place is teeming with Rex's goons who are vandalizing the place by drawing on Vinnie's paintings. Vinnie frustrating says that when Rex finds out what they've done, he'll be furious. The goon then replies "who do you think sent us?" then locks Vinnie in the freezer. Vinnie then starts to freeze while the goons laugh that they can't hear him and they've broken the handle. Chase then breaks Vinnie out the freezer and rebuilds him. Vinnie states that Jimmy, the leader, locked himself in the ice cream factory hidden behind a secret door in his office. Chase proceeds to break in and pour ice cream on Jimmy, trapping him in a box. Vinnie angrily asks why Rex sent him. Jimmy refuses to answer but Chase suggests a way to make him talk - ice cream. Jimmy starts to develop a brain freeze causing him to spill the beans - Rex is planning to steal a crane that day. Chase decides to pose as Jimmy and steal the crane from the construction site. This is the last time Vinnie is seen.
Vinnie could have possibly been busted and arrested by the end of the game or he could have escaped punishment.
