Biography[]
Trivia[]
- According to Ludo, Violetta was never his wife's true name, and her real name was never revealed throughout the story.
- She is the only villain in Series 7 that had redeemed herself.
- Her role was possibly a homage to Marion Brooke in the original Inspector Morse series. Both of them assisted a schemer into manipulating Morse and made him into troubles. However, unlike Marion, Violetta had no relations to Freemasons.
- Violetta was named after Violetta Valéry (named Marguerite Gautier in the original novel), the main female character in Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata, of which the character had reference on.
- The said opera was based on La Dame aux camélias written by Alexandre Dumas fils. Its opening segments was shown in both Morse's first meeting with Violetta, and its final scene was shown during Morse's final goodbye with her.
- Violetta was one of the few former love interests of Morse that had became a culprit and/or an accomplice to the main culprit, and she died in her final appearance, further cementing Morse's already bad misfortune in finding a love interest.
