| ~ Number Two to Dr. Evil about Virtucon. |
Virtucon Industries, more commonly known as Virtucon, are the main antagonists of the Austin Powers trilogy.
They are a massive company, as well as a terrorist organization, founded and led by Dr. Evil with the goal of taking over the world and causing as much chaos as possible for money. This puts them at odds with Austin Powers, Dr. Evil's arch-nemesis and twin brother.
Biography[]
Origins[]
It's unknown when the company was founded, except that it was likely founded prior to 1977 based on the beginning of the first film. The most likely explanation is that Dr. Evil and Number Two founded it after graduating from the Spy Academy.
The company specializes in land ownership and has gained a large amount of wealth through this. They then used this to finance multiple crimes and offenses committed by Dr. Evil in his crusade against Austin Powers.
International Man of Mystery[]
Multiple assassins were sent by Virtucon in 1977 to kill Austin Powers, but they all wound up failing. Thus, Dr. Evil decides to freeze himself so that he can awaken in a time period where Austin is already dead, causing Austin to do the same.
While Dr. Evil was frozen, Virtucon managed to sell and buy more quantities of land and became much more wealthy. They also made a son of Dr. Evil named Scott to always have a part of him around. After Dr. Evil is reawaken, he begins a scheme to extort $1 million from the world leaders. He then changed it to $100 billion after learning that inflation happened.
Later, Number Two and his assistant, Alotta Fagina, attend a casino and meet an unfrozen Austin Powers and his partner, Vanessa. Seeing this, Number Two sends the assassin, Patty O'Brien, to kill Austin in the bathroom, but this backfires and Austin escapes.
Later, Dr. Evil intimidates the world leaders with the threat of a machine that can reach the Earth core and detonate every volcano on Earth. Later, Austin and Vanessa arrive at their Bunker, but the assassin, Random Task, captures them. Virtucon then places them in an overly complicated trap that they wind up escaping.
Eventually, Virtucon prepares to activate the machine, but Austin and Vanessa manage to stop them, but Dr. Evil and escape as the bunker explodes.
