Viviane the Moon Witch is one of the main antagonists of the Monica's Gang franchise. She is one of the last Moon Witches still active on Earth, planning to use the power of the Moon in her rituals to conquer the world and cloak it in her magic. She is Maggy's archenemy.
History[]
Viviane is a witch who aims to rule the world. It is obsessed by the moon which is the source of her powers, and constantly tries to make an ritual that will make her able to absorb the moon's full power, and then she'll have power enough to take over the world. She is only able to cast spells with the light of the full moon. Like many villains Monica's Gang she also has an incompetent henchman who is her talking cat Bóris. Her first appearence is in "The Moon Witch", where Maggy suspects that her neighbour is a witch, and along with Jimmy Five, she proves her theory by seeing her making a strange ritual. With Monica, they sneak in Viviane's house and stops her plan, by sending a frog on Viviane's ritual, that swallows all of the flies, that were a key element in her ritual, and then Monica knocks her out with a rabbit-hit. In "Maggy and a story About Baloons and Dreams", she uses her new spell that involves creating magical baloons that swallow the heads of the ones that touches it, control their body, and makes them go into a dormancy state, where they dream with releazing their biggest wishes, but she is defeated after accidentally touching one of them. In "Birthday Wish" she tries to steal Maggy's birthday candle, as it is a powerful magical item.
In all the stories she appears he always has his plans defeated by Monica and her friends, and is usually the most Maggy who spoils his plans. In the spin-off Monica Teen she returns with a new look, and has a daughter named Ramona. She comes to haunt the lives of Marina in her birthday.
Personality[]
Viviane is power-hungry, manipulative and sometimes a little bit abusive, even to people close to her. Despite being very intelligent and competent, she is extremly vain, sometimes underestimating her enemis, this being her biggest flaw, that often leading to her defeat.
Appearence[]
Viviane is a tall and pale-skinned woman, with very dark hair, and usually wearing black dresses, while in more private moments she uses more modern clothes. Is also common seeing she using moon-themed props and accessories.
Trivia[]
- The reason of why she don't appear frequently is because her power goes out when the moon is not full, which limits her appearences chances.
- Despite not being as recurring as other villains, she can be considered one of the main antagonists because of her arch-enemy state to Maggy, one of the protagonists, ambitious goals, and because of her extended character exploration in Monica Teen, that shows how much evil yet detailed she really is.
