Villain Overview

It's nothing personal.
~ Vladimir to McQueen.

Vladimir Trunkov (rus. Владимир Багажников) is a supporting antagonist in Pixar's twelveth full-length animated feature film Cars 2, the second installment of the Cars franchise. He is a Lemon who is the leader of the Trunkov family, working with Professor Zündapp.

He was voiced by Stanley Townsend, who also voiced Victor Hugo and Ivan in the same film.

Biography[]

Cars 2[]

He and many members of the Lemons attended a meeting, so they could all discuss on how to discredit Allinol. The Lemons were using the electric pulse generator that looked like a camera to make the racers blow their engines and crash. This would ensure that all the cars would keep using convention fuel to secure the profits of the whole Lemon organization. He liked this idea.

After Professor Zündapp faced his defeat, Vladimir and many more members of the Lemons showed up. When everyone was fighting, Flo blinded Vladimir and Sheriff arrested Vladmir by putting a car boot on him. later Vladimir and the other terrorists were taken to trial

Obey Traffic Signals Commercial[]

Vladimir made a cameo appearance in the Obey Traffic Signals promotional commercial, driving along the streets in the background.

Personality[]

Like all the other Lemons, Vladimir Trunkov is a cold-hearted terrorist who would do anything for a quick buck. He is also notorious for being a crime boss and an iron-fisted family leader.

Apparently, he is very sadistic because he loved the idea of discrediting Allinol by using the electromagnetic pulse generator disguised as a camera which would cause the racers to blow their engines, crash, and make sure that every car would keep on using ordinary fuel to secure the profits of the Lemon organization. Similar to his bosses Sir Miles Axlerod and Professor Zündapp, Vladimir can get easily angered when things don't go as planned and was willing to take matters into his own hands by killing Mater and McQueen after the bomb did not kill them. Unlike the rest of the Lemon heads, Vladimir is shown to be empathic when confronting his enemies, as shown when cornering Mater, McQueen, Finn McMissile, and Holley Shiftwell in London before attempting to kill them as he reassures McQueen that they have nothing personal against him.

Weaponry and Gadgets[]

  • Deployable Machine Gun: Located on his left side, he got it out when trying to kill Mater (disguised as Ivan) in the Italy's Casino.

Trivia[]

    • Vladimir's color scheme (blue and yellow) reflects the Ukrainian state flag. The ZAZ plant is located in Zaporozhye, Ukraine.
    • According to his die-cast, his license plate is 19-71 SMK, the same as Petrov Trunkov's and Tolga Trunkov's. However, the final battle in Cars 2 reveals his real license plate number to be 95-81 OMH.

The actual ZAZ-966/968 model that had earned the nickname "Ears" with the Soviets in the first place, had jet airplane like intakes with shiny chrome trim on both of its rear quarters.
