Vodka (ウォッカ Wokka?) is a major antagonist in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan, as well as Gin's partner.
He was voiced by Fumihiko Tachiki.
Biography[]
Roller Coaster Murder Case[]
Vodka makes his debut at Tropical Land, where he and Gin are suspects in a roller coaster murder. When the two are proven innocent, they head to another location in the amusement park, where Vodka strikes a secret deal with another man. For a suitcase full of money, Vodka gives the other man a film that is supposed to show his company's illegal arms smuggling. After Gin KOs bystander Shinichi Kudo, Vodka is about to shoot him with his pistol, but Gin stops him because the cops are standing around and suggesting using a new poison from the organization. Shortly thereafter, the two disappear.
The Shinkansen's Bomb Case[]
When Conan, Kogoro and Ran take the train to a friend's wedding party, suddenly Gin and Vodka appear in front of the frozen Conan after the door to the neighboring compartment suddenly opens in front of him. Hardly noticed by Conan, the two take up two free seats on the train. Conan manages to place a bug near them and overhears their conversations. Here you learn for the first time that the two are known by the code names Gin and Vodka. They also say they swapped suitcases with another person on the train to hand over money. However, there is a bomb in the suitcase they gave the person. When the two leave the train a little later, Conan manages at the last moment to get the briefcase and the contents of the bomb out of the train in time and to ensure the survival of all passengers.
Reunion with the Black Organization[]
At the meeting of the organization for Conan and Ai in the area around the Haido City Hotel, Vodka is present in addition to Gin and Pisco. When Gin and Vodka encounter Shiho Miyano on the hotel roof or one of the neighboring buildings, Conan manages to hit Gin with a tranquilizer dart. However, he manages in time to shoot the needle out of the affected arm with his pistol. Temporarily weakened by his self-harm, however, Vodka now attempts to stop the equally battered Shiho Miyano from escaping and liquidate the stranger who was interfering with Gin instead of Gin. In this chaos, however, he tries in vain to implement his plans so that Shiho and Conan can finally escape.
Contact with the Black Organization[]
While Conan is at Itakura's hidden mountain cabin in Gunma with Professor Agasa investigating the organization there, they find an unopened message in her email inbox. When Conan tries to open it, the email asks for a password, which must be entered within 10 seconds to view the email's content. However, since he does not know the code, the e-mail is deleted again. Suddenly, the phone in that room rang, and a little later, Vodka left the answering machine and asked for Itakura, who he knew should be home. Conan picks it up and uses his voice transponder to impersonate Itakura. He successfully ensures that Vodka provides the necessary information over the phone. Conan manages to use the meeting and the timing in his favor without his partner becoming suspicious.
Since Conan is of course not allowed to show himself, he leaves behind the prescribed program and a check that the organization once gave Itakura at the meeting point in a conspicuous locker at a construction site in Tokyo. As Vodka steps into the traps set by Conan, he is suddenly stopped by Gin, who steps from the background and points his pistol at Vodka's head. However, Vodka is able to explain the situation, stay alive and correct his mistakes.
Clash of Red and Black[]
When the organization tries to break Kir out of FBI custody, Vodka joins them. As the Secret Service exits the hospital where Kir is being held, Vodka pins himself to one of the three cars the Organization member may be in. When all three members of the Organization send Gin an X-ray of all three cars, Gin decides that Kir must be in the car and Vodka gives chase. He was absolutely right with this assumption and Kir is freed from the car a little later.
