“ | Hmhmhm... Powerless and unintelligent Overlords... Why don't you all come at me? I'll take you all down on my way to killing Killia. | „ |
~ Void Dark to the Rebel Army. |
“ | What's wrong, Killia? Is that all you've got with the Ultimate Demon Technique that you supposedly mastered? My father was a fool. If he acknowledged my talent from the beginning, he wouldn't have been in such a painful situation. | „ |
~ Void Dark while fighting Killia in their final battle. |
“ | Don't make me laugh. If you're gonna lecture me, I'd rather die... But... Killia... I need you to listen to me, and do me one final favor... Please... Help my sister. | „ |
~ Void Dark, upon being defeated and left near death, asks Killia to fulfil his goal of reviving his sister Lieze. |
Void Dark is the main antagonist in the video game Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance.
He was voiced by Chris Niosi who also voices Shaiapouf from Hunter X Hunter, Ernesto Boxman from OK K.O. Let's Be Heroes and Savarin Canele from Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS.
Personality[]
“ | Stop talking. I'll have you killed, too. | „ |
~ Void Dark to his 85th secretary. |
During the main game, Void Dark is seen as ruthless and cruel, killing people in the blink of an eye, not caring about destroying entire planets filled with people and even threatening to genocide an entire species if one of them that works for him doesn't give good news. He is also vicious enough to brainwash his own father, something even Majorita views as heartless.
Void Dark is a man of few words, often letting his secretaries speak for him if he agrees with what they are saying, however, if anyone who works for him speaks out of line then he will immediately threaten them with death or worse. He is naturally intolerant of failure, going as far as to kill a high-ranking member of The Lost when his men are defeated by the Rebel Army and kill his own secretaries if they mess up in any way including doing something as minor as accidentally spilling some tea on him.
One of the only people he genuinely cares about is his younger sister, he is extremely protective of her both before and after the events of the game. While he may have had some jealousy of her falling in love with Killia, by the end of the game, he shows that he is willing to let Killia resurrect her.
After his resurrection, he is truly apologetic about the actions he did as the Demon Emperor of The Lost to the point that he considered suicide after he kills the evil part of his soul and is only stopped when he is convinced that he should help the Netherworld's he invaded to rebuild.
Relationships[]
Allies[]
Liezoreta[]
Bloodis/Goldion[]
Unlike his sister, Void Dark seemingly harbours very little to no love for his father, viewing all of his teachings as nonsense.
Once Void Dark became the Demon Emperor of The Lost, Goldion would stand against him. Void Dark would show his father very little mercy, personally beating him down before having him tortured and eventually brainwashed into becoming Demon General Bloodis, a loyal servant who would commit atrocities in Void Dark's name.
After Void Dark lost his evil heart, Void Dark would feel genuine sorrow for what he did to his father and apologised to him when they next met.
Majorita[]
Out of everyone in The Lost, Majorita is one of the few that Void Dark has a level of respect for, seeing her as an incredibly valuable tool and servant who would do anything that he asked of her. Despite this, Void Dark was actively lying to her in order to earn this loyalty, telling Majorita that he intends to build a utopia ruled by him instead of his true goal of reviving his sister.
When Majorita failed him and it was coming time for the ritual to revive Liezoreta, Void Dark wouldn't hesitate to steal Majorita's Overload skill, Broken Faith Magia, from her before revealing that he had been deceiving her to earn her trust. After this, Void Dark would kill Majorita and turn her into a zombie to battle against the Rebel Army.
Once Majorita was fully revived and Void Dark had lost his evil heart, he fully intended to let Majorita kill him, feeling genuinely sorry for betraying her trust by lying to her.

Biography[]
Past[]
Void Dark was the son of Goldion, one of the strongest demons. He was trained by him in Goldion's martial arts, the Ultimate Demon technique. Void Dark would always be at odds with his father's beliefs, not understanding that a pure heart could grant a demon immense strength.
Eventually, Goldion would train the Tyrant Overlord Killia who also fell in love with Void Dark's younger sister Liezerota. Void Dark would attempt to kill Killia in a fit of jealous rage, however, Liezerota got in the way and he accidentally killed her.
Void Dark swore that he would resurrect his sister, no matter what it would cost. He then formed the The Lost and started his Netherworld conquest, searching for the ability to absorb energy that would be required to resurrect someone and recruiting Majorita, a powerful girl with the power of necromancy who he planned to steal the power of. He also brainwashed his father, turning him into the Demon General Bloodis.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance[]
For most of the game, Void Dark orders around The Lost's soldiers from his throne room. A running joke is that Void Dark goes through many secretaries because he kills them after they do anything minor to annoy him such as spilling his drink, the game starts with Void Dark's 83rd secretary and he ends the game on the 89th secretary.
While in his throne room, he would be ambushed by a group of ten Overlords called the Ten Asura Kings who were willingly kidnapped by The Lost in order to assassinate Void Dark. Alfonzo, their leader would go on about how he and his nine brothers would kill Void Dark before Void Dark casually killed Alfonzo with a single punch before forcing the nine brothers to fight to the death for the title of Demon General, in the end Beheritas was the winner of the battle royale.
The first time that we see him in action is when his liar is being invaded by the largest Overlord, Grand Gradrius VI. Void Dark goes to confront him, expecting a decent fight, however, he easily overpowers him. When Grand Gradrius VI's children come to protect him, Void Dark shoots a large ball of dark energy at them, launching Grand Gradrius VI and his children back to the Netherworld which proceeds to explode, killing everyone in that Netherworld.
The Rebel Army then comes face to face with Void Dark after Killia and Zeroken hit Bloodis with Avidya Holy Water in order to undo his brainwashing. Killia goes to fight Void Dark, however, the difference in strength between the two is far too much as well as Void Dark reveals that he has access to Killia's old Overload skill, Alma Ice Sculpture which he uses to freeze the time around one of Killia's fireballs and hit it back at him.
who makes a retreat once he hears that his army has found the Overlord with the ability he wants to absorb.
Once he gained the energy-absorbing ability, Void Dark started to send energy-absorbing spears to different Netherworlds that he has conquered.
The Rebel Army invades his headquarters and fights their way through most of his forces including both Bloodis and Majorita, the latter of which Void Dark absorbs the power of so he can raise the dead.
He is later challenged by the Rebel Army and defeated but not before telling Killia about his plan to resurrect Liezerota using all the energy he gathered, he passes it all to Killia before dying.
After Void Dark is killed, the evil part of his heart possesses Liezerota's body and uses it to try and kill Killia and the Rebel Army before being exorcised from her body.
Post Game[]
After his death, Void Dark would manage to resurrect himself, however, so would the evil part of his heart. Since the two were separated, Void Dark felt guilty over all the trouble he had caused in his journey to revive his sister, from killing countless demons, destroying Netherworlds and causing the death of his father, Void Dark wanted to make sure that his evil heart was completely destroyed before it could make any more victims, Void Dark intending to kill himself as recompense for all the horrible acts he has done once his evil heart is destroyed.
When Void Dark saw the Rebel Army, led by Killia, defeating his evil heart, he would start to trail them, wanting to make sure that they completely destroy his evil heart and being completely willing to leap in if his evil heart were to ever gain the upper hand. After Killia failed to destroy the evil heart with Macrocosm, Void Dark leapt in explaining that since he lost his evil heart, he can use Macrocosm as well. Both Killia and Void Dark teamed up to unleash one powerful Macrocosm together, destroying the evil heart (or so they thought).
Void Dark would then go on to explain that he wanted to kill his evil heart as recompense and that he was completely willing to die now that it was gone, asking the Rebel Army to finish him off. Majorita would leap at the chance, wanting revenge for being tricked, killed and turned into a mindless zombie, however, the Rebel Army would stop her, wanting Void Dark to help rebuild the Netherworlds that he destroyed to make up for all the atrocities that he committed.
