Biography[]
Cartoon[]
Vorath appeared in the final miniseries, "The Rebirth", as a member of the Hive, the rulers of Nebulos. The group formed an alliance with the Decepticons, being binary bonded to a group of them. Vorath objected to being bonded with Mindwipe, protesting that he was a scientist, but Mindwipe hypnotised him into being more compliant. He took part in battles with the Autobots on Nebulos and on Cybertron, before being among those cast adrift aboard Scorponok.
Comics[]
Vorath debuted in the Headmasters miniseries as one of Lord Zarak's cronies on Nebulos. Along with Grax, he arranged a demonstration against the Autobots' presence on the planet. He then helped Zarak contact the Decepticons led by Scorponok, who arrived on Nebulos and immediately took the group prisoner. However, after the Autobots gained an advantage by bonding as Headmasters with the group's Nebulan rivals, Zarak convinced Scorponok to do the same with him and his allies. Vorath was partnered with Mindwipe and their first battle was a success, as they were able to capture all the Autobot Headmasters and their partners. Vorath continued to work with Zarak and the Decepticons against the remaining Autobots and was responsible for duplicating the Targetmaster technology.
Vorath made his first appearance in the main comic in Issue #38, where Scorponok's crew reached Earth, taking part in the first battle with the Autobot Headmasters on the new planet. He continued to act as Scorponok's scientific assistance, helping him to develop the Pretender technology in Issue #41 and also tracing Optimus Prime's attempt to hack them. In the UK annual story "All in the Minds", after Scorponok and Mindwipe managed to corner and hypnotise Highbrow, Zarak and Vorath detached themselves in an attempt to convince him to trust them. However, Highbrow's own partner, Gort, was unaffected and knocked Vorath out.
Vorath made his last independent appearance in Issue #49, where he and the other Headmaster partners detached and revealed themselves during the first meeting with Ratbat and the Earth Decepticons. He presumably perished when Mindwipe was destroyed during the battle with Unicron in Issue #75.
