A Vraal
Vraals are monsters that are part of the Shadow Lord's army and creatures in Deltora Quest. They were made solely for fighting.
History[]
Appearance[]
Vraals are similar to crocodiles in terms of skin; they have brownish green criss-crossing scales all over their body. They have very small eyes in the front and back of the head and no nose. Instead, their head is mostly taken up by their large mouth filled with long razor-sharp teeth. Vraals also have long claws on their hands and hoof-like feet. They can also swing their rather long tail with much force.
All of these destructive features make Vraals absolutely deadly in battle.
In the Deltora Quest anime, the Vraal's appearance was changed greatly. It had a more triangular head, no visible teeth and the claws on its hands were greatly reduced. A single eye rested inside the Vraal's throat. The tail was also longer than depicted in the book.
Vraals had a shoulder armor rerebrace, counter and vambrace in their left arm.

Vraals's fangs could bite through swords, their claw were shape and Vraals same as Green Beasts their body scales could repel weapons but their scales had no weak point also vraals use their tail little.
In the Anime they would use surrounding objects to their advantatge like throing huge rockand and Vraals used as tail as primary weapon.
Weaknesses[]
Their only weak points were Vraal's eyes and nose.
In the Anime Vraal only weak points were mouth and eye.
Encounters[]
- Lief and his companions first encountered a Vraal on Dread Mountain.
- More Vraals were shown in The Shadowlands where they are used in the Shadow Arena where they are used for a 'sport' of death.
