The Vril is a semi-alive Precious Creature and the main antagonist of episode 8 of GoGo Sentai Boukenger.
History[]
The Vril is a semi-alive Precious capable of copying information from other lifeforms and objects that was sealed inside of a nesting doll-style container because of the threat it posed.
Arch Priest Gajah of the Gordom Civilization sought out the Vril for his own ends, but was challenged for it by the Boukengers, who believed it to be the Orichalcon of Atlantis. Gajah chose to allow them to have it, believing it would bring them to ruin. The Boukengers took the Vril back to their base and gave it to Makino to analyze. Not knowing what it was, Makino opened up the container and inadvertently released the Vril. Beginning as the size of a grain of rice, the Vril overpowered Makino and gradually began copying other objects to increase its size, including Souta Mogami of the Boukengers. Vril-Souta transformed into Vril Blue to fight the Boukengers, who tried destroying it by blasting it with the Dual Crusher, only for Vril Blue to multiply. The Boukengers were able to immobilize the Vril with GoGo Mixer, but the Vril copied the data of DaiBouken and transformed into a distorted copy of it. Summoning the real DaiBouken to do battle, the Boukengers destroyed the Vril with DaiBouken Drill and Mixer using Bind Break.
Trivia[]
- The Vril is a reference to The Thing, the titular antagonist of the B-movie of the same name.
- With all of the villains in Boukenger being homages to past Super Sentai mecha, the Vril's final form is one for the Boukengers' very own DaiBouken.
