|~ Vulture to Spider-Man after escaping from the Raft.|
Adrian Toomes, best known by his alias Vulture, is a minor antagonist in Marvel's Spider-Man. Out of all the members of the Sinister Six, he is the one who has the most history with Spider-Man.
He was voiced by Dwight Schultz.
Born in Staten Island, New York City, the Vulture was one of the first supervillains Spider-Man had to face. He engineered his own flight suit and began committing crime across New York. It took Spider-Man years and many failed attempts to finally catch Vulture and he was then locked away in the Raft. It was later discovered that Vulture had developed spinal cancer due to the power produced from his winger rig.
Vulture was later approached by Otto Octavius, who devised a plan to save Vulture's life and free him from the Raft prison, in exchange for helping fix a personal vendetta against the mayor of New York Norman Osborn. Vulture agreed to the task.
The Vulture assisted Electro briefly against Spider-Man during the prison breakout at the Raft, helping to lure him into a deadly confrontation with the Sinister Six. Together, the villains brutally beat Spider-Man and Otto briefed them on their objectives.
Later, when Spider-Man escapes an explosive trap set by Doctor Octopus, Vulture captures Spider-Man and drags him to Electro as a back-up plan. The two supervillains proceeded to battle the web slinger. Despite their best efforts, Spider-Man took them both down after a lengthy battle, and Vulture was subsequently arrested. While it's never specified if he got cured from his spinal cancer, if he wasn't before being arrested, it's likely that the Vulture's cancer progressed to worse until there was no chance of curing and died.
- Dwight Schultz had previously voiced the Vulture in the video game adaptation of the 2002 Spider-Man film.
