Wakuraba (病葉, Wakuraba) is a minor character in the manga/anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and a member of the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Lower Rank Three. His first and only appearance in the story was during the Lower Ranks Meeting that took place during the Rehabilitation Training Arc, where Muzan purged them all for their incompetence and lack of loyalty to the cause. In a desperate attempt to survive, Wakuraba tried to flee the Infinity Castle with his life, only for Muzan to effortlessly decapitate him from a distance and completely nullify his regeneration, killing Wakuraba soon after.
He was voiced by Sōichirō Hoshi in Japanese and Stefan Martello in English.
Appearance[]
Wakuraba was a demon with pale skin, short black hairs, having three scars on his face, two on his cheeks and one on his forehead and he had two earings on each of his ears. He wore a sheen green kimono with dots on it, a white scarf around his neck and japanese sandales.
Abilities[]
As the Lower Moon Three he was no doubt more powerful than Rui since he has a higher rank in the Twelve Kizuki. Nothing much is known about him, due to his short screen time in the series.
Enhanced Regenerations: Being a lower moon means that he had a higher regenration speed and received more blood from Muzan than normal demons. However his regeneration abilities were not enough for him to regrow his body part back after being killed by Muzan.
Enhanced Speed and Leap: Out of all the lower moon that were killed, Wakubara was the only to show his superhuman speed and leap with his attempt by escaping from Muzan. In just a few second he had already travelled across a great part of the Infinity Castle.
Biography[]
Like the rest of the lower moons, Wakubara was teleported to the Infinity Castle after Muzan learned about Rui's death.
The owner of the Infinity Castle, Nakime, then appeared before them, alongside another female demon. Initially, the lower moons failed to recognize the woman, until she ordered them to bow before her, revealing herself as one of Muzan's forms. The lower moons all bowed down with fear upon this realization.
Muzan then announced to all of them the news of Rui's death, before asking them why the lower moons were so weak. He then tells them that it's been over a hundred years since the upper moons were last replaced compared to the lower moons who were constantly changing members. Muzan, annoyed at Lower Moon 6, Kamanue, for trying to hide his thoughts, quickly killed him in front of the others.
Muzan then asked who they fear more, the Demon Slayers or him. Wakubara was prepared to answer, but was interrupted by Mukago who answered that she would put her own life for him, before meeting the same fate as Kamanue. After learning that Muzan had the ability to read the other demon's thoughts, Wakuraba attempted to run away while Muzan was busy absorbing Mukago, only to be teleported back a few seconds later with Muzan holding his head.
